09 Transmission Problem

I have a 2009 v6 TRD Sport with 190k miles. My issue started severl months back. On occasion, when coming to a stop, the transmission would shift out of gear and then right back in. It would give a pretty good jolt. The first couple times it happened I thought someone had pumped in to me from the rear. It has slowly progressed. Now on occasion, normally when I've been driving for several minutes, it will slip/shift out of gear when slowing down to make a turn. When I give it gas to accelerate, the engine will rev and the transmission will slam into gear. It only happens in first gear, normally less than 5 mph. I dropped the pan, cleaned the screen and magnets (both were very clean already) and refilled with fluid. It seemed to be better for a few weeks. Now it's worse than ever.

Any ideas?

 

I would try adding some lubeguard platinum tranny additive. More info below

I have an 09 with 161k, so far no issues over $200 or a few hours but I’m waiting...

 

I have two guys I work with who have 07's and we all started having the transmission issue about the same time. In 190k miles I've replaced both rear axel bearings, front universal joint, front and rear brakes once each. My clear coat had started to fade pretty. That's really my only disappointment.

 

Are you fixing this yourself or sending it out to the shop ?

 

I do everything myself. At least so far. I'm trying to find the best source for the part right now. I'm finding refurbished soleniods for a good price but I'm not sure.

 

I am not too familiar with refurbed solenoids .
I suppose if you find a good deal on one as they are replaced very quickly but will cost you a pan gasket as well as dropping the pan again .

Looks ok , but what i would do if i was in your shoes is call the dealership with your vin number and get a price as well as part number .
Those solenoids are superseded every 6 months with upgrades . Then once you have the latest part number , do another search .
