Hey Everyone, hope everyone is well.
My 10 Tacoma has been weathered by the harsh winter treated roads of New England.
The hitch assembly is severely rusted. I went to have a haul hitch installed but apparently the OEM tow package utilizes the hitch assembly to attach the bumper?
    Big question mark there.
The local dealer quoted $1300 to do the work.
I’ve looked about and have struggled with understanding what is needed to get this done.
I don’t know, maybe $1300 is what it’s going to take, hope not though.
Please help me understand the parts that are needed, diagrams, tips, and advice.
At this point bad advice will be considered.
    Thank you for helping

Some pics would be good. If your hitch and mounts are rusted to shit then a lot of other stuff may be as well. You can pb blaster all the bolts the day before and probably take everything off yourself. Buy an OEM hitch and install it, fairly cheap, definitely way cheaper than $1300

I will snap some tomorrow. The hitch started to rust early on, but oddly enough wasn’t covered in the frame recall.
