Removing the fenders and preparing for incoming parts to repair my truck since driving it thru that barn. The antenna mount was smashed into the fender. How do I disconnect the wire? I’m like 10 minutes away from cutting it. I am not removing the radio.

The stereo is easy to remove and disconnect the antenna properly. That will also allow you to reconnect the replacement antenna. There is a thread here on how to replace the antenna assembly, do a search as I am too lazy right now to locate it.

If you aren't going to remove the radio then cut it then.

Than how do you plan on connecting the replacement antenna?

The connector for the fender-mounted antenna is behind the passenger side A-pillar upper trim.

Removing the radio on an '08 is one face plate and 4 bolts. Easy.

    True!

But removing the radio isn't required to replace the fender-mounted antenna assembly.

Just replace the entire antenna assembly on my 06' a couple weeks ago due to the lower antenna assembly snapping. Only thing you need to remove is the glove box and a few of the plastic clips that hold the fender liner in place (only need to peel it back far enough to get at the bolt holding the antenna base). I recommend you pick up a pack of the fender clips (cheapest I could find is on amazon), because I didn't remove any without snapping the heads off.

Hey, thanks for the diagram, I noticed my antenna mount is a little loose and this will come in handy.
