Are these steps worth a crap?

Anyone tried these predator style steps? I know they're cheap at $125, and you usually 'get what you pay for'. But I'm also pretty sure the OEMs aren't worth $500+ either.

Steps are worthless...If your going to spend the money, get sliders...they actually protect your truck and give you a jacking point if needed...I have ordered my last 3 vehicles without the garbage side steps as they bend and break so easy...why give the mfg. all that money for something I don't want anyway...

 

Being on the short and old side of the man scale, I need something to give me a little assistance getting into my truck. I have factory running boards, but they're not much help when the top of the board is at the bottom of the cab anyway.

 

If you don’t off road. Steps are good for door ding protection. Go for it. They are cheap insurance. You can also did a set on Craigslist for cheap too. 2nd gen steps fit as well.

 

I bought some nerf style for about the same price .very happy ,the holes lined up nice bolted up perfectly . Only has been 10 months but still like new ! I did put mud guards afterwords as they piled snow in 4x4

 

I'd try some before buying. I didn't find them helpful. My neighbor has them, I have sliders.... neither is really great for me as a step.

 

There sure a lot of parts to it. I think if you do decide to try them, use some loctite or periodically check them. It be a bummer to step on it and have it drop on your shin.

Ok sure, but if you don't offroad your truck why not just have steps if you need an easier way to get in and out of your vehicle?
