help with lift(5100)

so long time lurker first time poster. long story short ive had my 2012 trd off road double cab 4x4 for about six moths and just blew out a front shock. so I work at a mechanic shop and we have an account with 4 wheel parts ive decided on 5100 on all 4 wheels I would like to level it out so question is do I really need coils and the add a leaf or can I get enough lift with just the shocks. I can get ome coils (

arb2885) from 4 wheel parts also but confused on the aal they cary ome (7ap12) and revtek 1.5 aal would I also need longer u bolts? thanks

You don't need either. The 5100s have adjustable clips in the front to raise your truck with the stock springs. However, ride will suffer if you raise it much, it is far better to use a longer dedicated lift coil. If you want to level it, you don't need the AAL. For level look to lift about 2" in the front. If you want to go above 2" you should get an AAL in the rear so you don't end up nose high. I've not heard of anyone running the Rancho AAL on the Tacoma, and there is likely a reason. And the OME AAL on 4wheel parts is suspiciously cheap, but also appears to be made for the aftermarket OME (not OEM) leaf pack.

I would suggest looking at the wheelers 3-leaf progressive AAL for best ride when doing an AAL. Single leaf AAL can ride very harsh.
