    I searched sorry if i missed it....

    I have the factory jbl system, i received a free 12"sub and a 250watt amp.

    Do i need a aftermarket HU

    You can if you have a plug on the amp for a high level input. It will probably not be the greatest sound quality though.

    So whats the best bet to do then? Change to aftermarket HU

    I was planning on taking out the stock amp sub and enclosure putting a stealth box with a 12 in it and putting in the new amp but didnt know if I could or if it was possible or not with the factory set up.

    Yeah, an aftermarket head unit would be the best way to do it. The RCA cables used with the aftermarket headunit versus the high level input to the stock head unit will give a much better sound.

    Ok thanks after market HU here I come, i was looking for a excuse to get a touchscreen not sure if I want to drop that much right now though

    wanted to ask what mod can we do to the JBL system that is from the factory to upgrade? If I just need to put in an amp can anyone suggest a specific amp that will be good for blasting when the windows are down on the highway, not looking to wake up neighbors or anything like that... thanks so much guys!
