Hey everyone! I just purchased a Tacoma today, and I'm loving it already. Just for reference, I'm not very mechanically inclined, so if the answers to these are obvious, I'm sorry. Anyways, there are two things that I have noticed with my brakes so far that seem a bit.. off. Under somewhat heavy braking, my truck wants to turn left, even on a completely level road. I'm not quite sure why, but I'm thinking that the brakes on the left side are gripping more than those on the right? Also, there is already some play in the brake pedal that was not there before. I'd say probably 1/4 of an inch, but it's noticable and is kind of bugging me. Is this normal, and is there a way to fix it?
    Thanks for the help!

go out and get on an empty road w/ no one behind you. take the truck up to 20 mph and slam on the brakes. hold the wheel straight and make it come to a complete stop. do this 2 or 3 times. then do a normal stop and see if that helped. it could just be that you need to seat the pads in.

Auxilllary backup lights, removed secondary filter,
I have a similar problem.....pulls left and then back to center under moderate to heavy braking.

Today, my dealer mechanic checked it out (for the second time) and has ordered a new caliper for the left front.

It will be installed this Wednesday.

(I go to drive a Tundra reg. cab with V8 while my truck was in the shop.......vroom !!)

    I will keep you posted.
