I m upgrading my system and completely stumped trying to decide between getting the AudioControl 4 channel DSP/Amp that gives out 125w per channel or getting a JL Audio Fix 86 and a 5 channel amp, both are good solutions. I have read every thread on audio here and adding component 6x9’s to the front and adding a JL Audio Stealthbox. I am not looking for huge volume just a clear sound. Also I don’t care about hobby tuning or a 32 band graphic equalizer.

Just for clarification the AudioControl I can get for about $600 new and I could get a refurbed JL Fix 86 and JL 5 channel for the same cost. Thoughts?

For ease of use and less complexity I would go with the audiocontrol. Both brands make quality products though, so either way you go you'll be fine.

I went with a fix86 and an HD900/5.....I haven't finished the install so I have no real world experience with it yet. But jl makes top notch stuff and using the fix86 is "future proofing" for me so I can get better speakers up front at some point. I'm running focals but want to go higher end eventually.

    My shit is all stock.
So, based on your two options, I’m guessing you’re wanting to stay with the stock head unit?
