Smashing top of fenders wells. Plz assist

So do you guys beat the topside of your fender wells in?! Inner fender well area(where fender/flare cut doesn’t help)
Getting some rub, dunno what to do.

Can you smash that area in(up) like the pinch welds or do I need a better bump stop to prevent this issue?

 

Unusual because it's only a 33" tire. Are you hitting metal or just the fenderwell liner plastic?

 

Metal. I have no liners.
Used to hit on sides when stuffed but cut fender flares and fender 2.5 inches.
This area is the actual inner fender well.

 

The pinch weld? That sharp protrusion closest to the cab?

 

You'll need better bumpstops and likely spacers on the bumpstops: Other spacer brands from Durobumps and Teraflex Falcon will probably work too, but off-hand I know of only Wheelers selling the spacers.

Damn, okay that’s what I was leaning towards. Any experience with hydraulic bumps? Pro/cons?
Didn’t realize I may need spacers, I’ll loop into that some more unless someone wants to Chime in.

But from what I’m hearing...nobody mods the inner fender well in anyway?
Or is it just rare?

I’ve heard of guys beating the firewall back, so was hoping there was a similar fix.

 

Trying to limit travel restrictions as little as possible, so the larger bumps with spacers concerns me a little.
Is the difference negligible?

 

You could beat the firewall some, but usually guys do that for 35’s. Unless you have that much up travel?

Got a pretty good amount of uptravel, plus I beat on it pretty hard so it tends to only happen when being a little wreckless.
Either way I need to protect the components so I guess the bump stop upgrade is a no brainer at this point.

I was really hoping to hear from someone who’s had a similar issue on a “mid-travel” setup and know what they did.(such as beating the fender up lol).

I would just go ahead and beat the sucker up there. You just might find it’s what needed to happen. Make your hits precise though.
