Squeaky Brakes

I Just Rolled Over 8k Miles On My 07 Trd Sport. The Brakes Are Starting To Squeel When I Come To A Soft Stop. Is This Just The Type Of Pads Or Is This A Problem? Anyone Else Experience This?

 

yeah, I am. My brakes have maybe close to 9k miles on them. I took it in and the guy told me that its the pads. It will get down to a sertant point and change metals and thats what the squeeking is. Then it will wear through that section and should be gone, so he sais... I still have it after a thousand mile after it started.

 

yeah i have the same problem, i rotated the tires and now the rear drivers side brake squeaks when i tap the brakes (rear drum). eventually it goes away but its just annoying. i only have 9k miles on my taco too.

 

On my Porsche, the brake pad manufacturer (HAWK) and some track friends suggested finding a isollated spot where I could do some hard stops where I could run up to 45-55 mph and then stop hard to where the the ABS starts to kick in , let cool and then repeat for 4-5 times. ( not much more as you will get brakes/rotors to hot, so let them cool afterwards, also after doing this, don't set the parking brake til they completely cool to not to cause any warpage) This is similar to bedding in new pads.

When I tried it it did clear up the squeal which is caused by excessive dust/glazed surfaces.

You have enough miles that the brakes are broken in at this point.

It's also give you a chance to check you ABS on dry pavement.
