    The blower motor went out on my 2005 Tacoma. It was making a whining noise and then finally just quit on me. I like to do things myself, so I looked for a new blower motor and found this genuine oem part from Toyota. It was a easy to install. Installed it under the glove compartment, plugged it in, started my truck and BLAMO! It worked perfectly. I looks like they replaced the original plastic bearing with a more substantial metal bearing. Hope it lasts. For now it works like a charm. So think about it: have the stealership charge you for the part and labor (around $1300!) or do it yourself for a little over $100 bucks. There are tons of forums and youtube videos to guide you through it.

    Toyota has redesigned this motor three times, and each one has gone squeaky after a year or so. Only time will tell if this one is the winner. Be wary. So far it's quiet, though. It also looks different than the other three. It's made in China instead of Vietnam, and it's not a Delphi.

    If you're having squeak issues and are even remotely mechanically inclined, I'd recommend just pulling the motor out, add a few drops of 3n1 to the bearing assemblies, (or some lithium grease if you really want it to last). It's easy, and people have had a lot of success with this method. It's a $2 fix vs. $115.     Replaced my 11 year old blower fan with this one. There were a few noticeable changes to the design, such as the bolt on the front of the fan cone. Installation was very simple, however it does not come with new wire retainers so you will need to take the old ones off the unit that is being replaced. I was amazed at how much extra air flow I was getting out of this new unit, and it has been running very quiet.

    Bought this to remedy the blower motor noise that Toyota issued a TSB for on the 05-11 Tacomas. I contacted one of the other vendors to ask which part number I would get because the 04043 is an older revision. They told me I would in fact get the newest, 04044. I went ahead and ordered it. It takes 3 screws to remove and an unclip and the old one will come right out. The new blower motor is so far so good after a week of heavy use.
