Its easy to use and seems to work. I tested with some water and the water beaded up on top of the carpet and I was able to remove most of the water by blotting with a paper towel. I cannot say that I love it because it hasn't been fully tested with something that would stain.

Needed to treat a new carpet and the option of spray cans of Scotchgard would have cost hundreds. mixed it up according to directions and used a pump sprayer (garden type). Treated 3 bedrooms and livingroom with 2 gallons of mix. I have plenty left to treat other things too....like the new sofa. Very happy I found and purchased this product.

The Scotchgard was as easy to use as stated. Mixing and spraying onto the carpets was so simple and nothing appears to be soiling the carpets. I was moving into a new home and wanted them totally treated before the move was finished. This liquid was priced so much better than hiring someone to do the same job.

I simply cannot recommend this product. It did not work at all. The recommened mixture I beleive is 5:1, five parts water to one part concentrated Scotchgard. I followed the instructions, it recommends using warm water with the mixture. Driections say to spray one application, wait for it to dry and then to apply a second. On my first try, the water seeped right through the fabric without beading up at all. Okay, could've been a bad spot, tried in several other location on the chair and I spray and it went straight through the fabric each time.

I tried a stronger dosage, 4:1 think that it might have been too water down. Again, after waiting for both applications to dry, it did not repel water. I tried 3:1 and then finally 2:1 expecting to work sooner or later, and it never repelled water. It could've been that I did something wrong, but when I've used Scotchgard in a can, It has worked marvelously. My plan was to Scotchgard everything, coats, carpet, my wife's new car seats, our new furniture, but I will have to go back to buying the canned stuff. I was excited to use the concentrated version think it would save me money but now I'm just disappointed that I wasted $80 on this faulty product.
