AVH-P3200BT Features

Built-In Bluetooth
The AVH-P3200BT features built-in Bluetooth technology, which allows you to take incoming calls through your vehicle's sound system. Connecting your Bluetooth-enabled phone is a snap, and gives you access to all your contacts. Best of all, you can make or take a call without a headset.

5.8-Inch Touchscreen Display
The AVH-P3200BT boasts a 5.8-inch TFT LCD touchscreen display with 1440 x 240 pixel resolution. Navigating your media and system settings from the touchscreen is a breeze thanks to intuitive touch controls and customizable menus. Tap, Swipe or Drag--exactly the way you expect a touchscreen device to work.

Versatile Multimedia Playback
Enjoy your favorite DVDs while parked with the full-featured DVD player, or add a back seat screen for your passengers to watch as you drive. The AVH-P3200BT will play DVDs, DVD-Rs, Video CDs and even DivX files burnt to CD or DVD (or from a USB device). You can also use the rear A/V input to attach external devices like video game systems.

As for music, you can enjoy your favorite CDs, or listen to MP3/WMA/AAC files from either CD/DVD data discs or a USB device.

USB Input / SD Memory Card Slot
Connect USB thumb drives or other devices and enjoy playback of your digital audio files or DivX video. Ditto for SD memory cards. This makes it a breeze to quickly grab some media from your computer before a big road trip, and enjoy hours of entertainment on the road.

iPod Direct Control (CD-IU50V required)
Connect your iPod directly and experience exceptional sound quality while easily navigating through music, videos and album art on the AVH-P3200BT's screen. Say goodbye to the annoying static of FM transmitters and other iPod half-solutions.

Advanced Sound Retriever
Hear the detail, warmth and clarity, the way the artist intended it, from all of your highly compressed MP3, WMA and AAC files stored on USB memory device, iPod and portable digital players. By restoring data (especially higher frequencies) that tend to get lost in the digital compression process, Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever technology enhances audio reproduction nearly all the way up to 20 kHz frequencies.

Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner
Pioneer's legendary Supertuner IIID combines the best of digital and analog tuner technologies to reduce distortion to bring you exceptional FM and AM performance. If you live in an area where reception is weak, you'll hear a big improvement in signal strength. And when you're near tall buildings, Supertuner IIID reduces the effect of multi-path noise, which occurs when the signal is reflecting off of the buildings.

Always have your favorite stations at hand with 18 FM and 6 AM user presets. And when you're somewhere new, let the tuner do the work for you by activating the Best Stations Memory (BSM) function. The tuner will seek out the 6 strongest stations in the area and set them into the tuner presets.

Dial in Your Sound
Use and customize EQ curves, adjust the eight-band parametric equalizer, or change loudness and bass boost settings to get the perfect sound.

AUX-In Connection
Use the built-in AUX input for connecting any digital portable player and other external auxiliary devices. For extra-convenient access, the AVH-P3200BT has this A/V input on the front panel.

MOSFET 50W x4 Amplifier for the Power Hungry
Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, delivering power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. And that doesn't just mean a boost in volume: it means that your music will be cleaner at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. Clean, efficient power that will rock your vehicle.

For those who'd like a bit more power, three 4V RCA preamp outputs are also included for system expansion (front/rear/sub).

Rear View Camera Capability
Keep an eye on your backside using the optional Rear View Camera (ND-BC2 or ND-BC20PA): while you're in reverse the rear-view camera can be in full screen. An unit equipped with the optional rear-view camera adds a level of safety and assurance you can rely on. In addition to keeping you and your family safe, this feature also makes maneuvering in tight spaces easier.

Ready to Expand
The AVH-P3200BT is also compatible with Pioneer's XM and Sirius satellite radio tuners, HD radio tuner, TV tuner, CD/DVD changers and more.

I have installed this product myself.I used it to marshal my all Infinity Kappa series sound system, including Kappa Five amp, which is an all in one solution to your amp woes by including a 300 wt sub amp. This head unit is very nice, considering the price available on Amazon. The common listener and up will be satisfied to impressed with this unit. I have the Kappa Perfect component and the best Infinity has to offer including sub. So I may be able to drag out more detail from this unit than most. The amp and the components in the store would cost you almost 1200dollars. Thats what you got to love about Amazon is that you can compromise on price and not compromise on what you want. I put together a 2200dollar system for 950bucks. This head unit compliments the system really well. The options are more than enough to satisfy most. The sub has a huge increment of control with an on/off touch switch and a level scale that goes down to -26. It has a touch band EQ, which I find to be particularly useful. The SD slot is the feature that I use the most. The cd player the least. It plays dvd's as advertised and the picture quality is standard par. Don't expect HD here... :)If you are running this head unit to a multi-channel amp the install is exceedingly simple. Wires are color coded as per usual.Any screen that is back lit is going to be washed out by direct sunlight. That is why I bought this unit which features hard buttons on the side, making operation slightly less life threatening in direct sunlight while driving. I would also recommend buying a remote as well to minimize focus on the unit while driving. Buy the remote and us velcrow to stick it on your visor or someplace else that is easily visible. The touch can be sensitive and a little bit finicky at times. I would take into account the angle of which you are installing this unit. If it is vertacle and dead on to your touch you should have no problems. My convertible Eclipse has it mounted a a slight angle which ads to some touch response issues on rare occasions. The only thing that you should be ultimately aware of, and some have already mentioned is that this device does NOT stream stereo Bluetooth from your devices. I have a droid X I planned on interfacing this phone for an additional medium for music. Does not work...... Don't let the Bluetooth compatibility fool you, its for communication only. That portion does work very well and it even displays a dial pad and phone book contacts on the unit. I think the thing that sold me on this unit is the integrated hard buttons. The overall look and options for this unit are what will sell you into buying it. The screen allows for a color slide on backlit colors allowing you to virtually choose from any color on a color wheel. It also allows for imported custom backgrounds for the screen to display. I am, overall very satisfied with this Pioneer AVH-P3200Quasi-BT...lol...BT being the Bluetooth portion.....................................................................................................................
This is the six month update, no problems so far and head unit is still going strong and I am continually satisfied with this product.

First, let me say that I really am enjoying the AVH-P3200BT. I installed it into my 2003 GMC Sierra and used the Axxess ASWC steering wheel controller to keep the functionality of my steering wheel controls. The instructions for the Pioneer unit were clear, although there is a communication disconnect between Pioneer and Axxess in that they don't use the same lingo.. making it less than obvious (to some, I imagine) how the ASWC connects to the AVH-P3200BT. The Pioneer has a socket for a "hardwired remote control" and the ASWC says to plug into a "Steering Wheel Control" socket. Well... the Pioneer doesn't have one. Once you figure out that the ASWC has to plug into the "hardwired remote control" jack, all is well.

Some of the complaints about the unit are legit. The buyer just has to decide for themselves whether they are important or not. You can only load and save one user-provided image as a background splash screen. Personally, that's not a big deal to me. No place in the documentation I saw did it explain that it won't read a 32-bit jpeg file, but trial and error showed that it will only take up to a 24-bit image. Again, not a biggie to me. Your mileage may vary.

I used the Metra wiring harness adapter to go into my Sierra. That worked well. The Pioneer also needs a 12v accessory line that is not native to the GMC radio wiring harness. I moved an unused lead in the Metra connector to the pin that the Pioneer wanted accessory power on and wired that into accessory. That took care of the problem without making any changes to my GMC harness. Also, you WILL need the antenna extension adapter - the GMC radio antenna plug and the Pioneer socket are not compatible.

The stereo is a tight fit in the dash (depth-wise), especially with the added connectors. If you can guide them back and to the left (behind the instrument cluster) everything will fit. To go into a GMC, you WILL need a mounting kit - both to provide the side mounting brackets and a double-DIN bezel to fill the 1/4" gap around the unit. When it was all said and done, I liked the way it looks in my truck.

Looks are part of the equation, but how does it perform? I'm pleased with the radio and CD player performance. The sound is good to my ears, but I'll also be the first to admit I'm not an audiophile. Something like alternator whine would drive me crazy, but that and crackling are about it. The sound is clear and you have a lot of control over the equalization. I like the quality of the DVD picture and playing music off a USB stick works well. I've not tried the aux (MP3 player or iPod) input yet. The display has plenty of brightness and plenty of adjustment bandwidth to set it to suit your taste. Steering wheel control with the ASWC is excellent and I have no complaints about latency. The Bluetooth connects quickly to my Blackberry, although the address book won't transfer. I won't blame that on Pioneer, I suspect that's a security restriction on my employer-supplied Blackberry. The incoming audio is strong and I have yet to manage to create feedback. I routed the microphone through the dash, up the A-post, over the headliner and tucked its foot underneath the overhead panel so that the microphone was near the driver's side visor. Folks on the other end said it was noisy & I suspect the microphone was picking up vibrations from the roof (exacerbated by the fact I have a full light-bar on top of my truck). I called and left a message on my own answering machine and I understood what they were describing. I un-tucked the foot and let the micriphone hang by 1/2" of its cord and have been told it's quite a bit quieter (although still kind of noisy - as is my truck). Again, your mileage will vary. I'm sure the Bluetooth would be much quieter in a sedan than it is in my pickup... but it works well and meets my needs completely.

Nice unit - I like it and I think it's a big improvement over my stock GMC radio/CD player that ate a CD 18 months ago and refused to give it back. Take your time with the installation, don't get frustrated, buy a good steering wheel controller, a double-DIN bezel kit and the antenna adapter and I think you'll be happy with the system.
