First off the screw cap from the kit does not fit the Rotopax container however we could reuse the Rotopax cap with the kit and it seals excellently.
The Scepter Spout kit includes a seal that not only seals but actually attaches to the inside of the spout so it wont fall off as soon as you remove the cap (like Rotopax does). Job well done there.
Great Fast Pour: And how does it pour? Oh my....does the Scepter it pour! Emptying a 3.5 gallon can with the Scepter spout takes about 45 seconds with good healthly gulps of air as it empties. The pressure equalizer is a good design that works very well. In contrast using the Rotopax spout it might take 6 minutes to empty a 3.5 gal container.....its a very slow and arduous process to hold the can in place and at the same time push on the spout so it will leak gas into the tank....and the operative word here is leak.... it takes forever. thank you Scepter!
Flexible Spout: The spout is somewhat flexible so it allow one to insert the tip into the filler before tipping the can to pour fuel. So much better then the rigid Rotopax that no matter how careful you are end up spilling gas down the side of the vehicle
Great value: Well worth the $16/pair for the spouts. They save so much time during filling and help the environment by making easy to not pour gas down the side of your vehicle.
I did remove the annoying black click lock off the can so the nut will go on and off easier. As for capping off the spout. You use the yellow button inside of the nut. For people who can't read and understand the screw on cap is for a VENT on vented cans not available in the USA thanks to Obama. I am concerned you may not be qualified to transport or use gasoline.
Also if you have Blitz or other cans not listed in the description you will need a different spout like the EZ-Pour to get the correctly threaded nut for your can.

Some other spout manufacturers claim to have "universal fit", but I had to send one back that made this claim, because it just didn't fit.
The best part of these Scepter spouts is that they are self-venting..they allow some air to get back into the can while you're pouring. Many of the modern cans do not include vents, so this feature is useful.
In case you don't know, the US Federal Government has required manufacturers to create and provide "NO SPILL" spouts with cans made in the last 7-10 years. I've tried three brands of these "No Spill" spouts and they are all ridiculous. They either don't work at all, or they quickly break. They are too rigid and short to allow you to pour gasoline into a car!!! How stupid is that?! Enter the Scepter spout, which allows you to pour gasoline wherever you want.
And because it is simply and reliable, you'll actually spill little or no gasoline!
The only negative to the Scepter spout is that the pour hole at the end of the spout is rather small, so the speed of pouring can be annoyingly slow, such as when you are trying to empty 5 gallons into a car's gas tank. It is just right for pouring slowly and in a controlled manner, however, so with a little patience, this will be just right for filling cars, generators, lawnmowers, etc.
