The wireless feature is the best thing in the entire world.-----I can now take a s*** while listening to queen and range is amazing-----No more Running over your cords with your chair-----My body is so adjusted to waving away the cords when i get up i still do it not realizing its cordlessThis thing feels great the ear cups and headband are very soft and comfortable and the weight is not an issue-----At first my ears kinda got sore at first but then i adjusted it and its not a problemBattery life is extremely long and that's good.-----Problem i turn my pc off when i'm done and the charging stops so i have to use my old headphones sometimes to let it recharge. (it recharges faster than it lasts).-----I don't know if battery degradation will occur.Cons of thisThe microphone is pretty bad but i might just need to adjust settings-----I was disappointed by its inability to pic up sounds farther than a foot away which could be good for you if you got a noisy house but i would've liked it if my friends could hear me pissing for laughs.Mic and audio drop out-----Every 7 minutes or so the audio and mic will stop for half a second maybe because its wireless but its not really a problem.

The A50 is not cheap... it does not have the best audio, or the best mic, but that is not what you are buying. You are buying a surround sound, wireless headset that provides "good" audio and "decent" mic qualities with decent battery life. This is the second A50 in our household, My wife uses this one, and I use an older generation HALO version.

For this new generation they have basically doubled the battery life as well as having it auto off when placed down, meaning battery life is no longer a issue as long as your willing to charge it every other day or so. They charge decently quick, and you can always plug in to continue playing if need be. For the new generation the base now has a light indicator telling you your current battery life, so no need on guessing rather you have 20% or 90% battery life. With two ways of charging; the magnetic base stand which works well, or the old plug in USB style there really is no excuse not to charge it when you are not using it.

So why buy it? Well... it is honestly the most comfortable headset I have ever used. I have owned over the last +/-20 years of gaming; Razer, TurtleBeach, Creative, Corsair, Logitek, Icemat Audio (now known as Siberia/Steelseries) and many others... The only headset that came close was the Icemat Audio in comfort, many of these other headsets were somewhat comfortable but after a few hours started bothering me, not so with the A50. This is why we went this direction for my wife, as her last Logitek was one of the most uncomfortable headsets we have owned, maybe only second to her Razer Banshee headset in the feeling of having your head in a vice. I can see people with narrow heads potentially having problems as their is not much "clamping force" but anyone with a average to above average size head should have no issues with comfort, the ear cups are pretty standard size, not small or large. It is also very breathable, I have never had "sweat" from wearing these, that I have had with say leather/vinyl cups.

I wear a 7 1/4 to 7 1/2 hat and my wife wears a 6.5 and its just as comfortable to both us of, she also wears glasses and finds they accommodate glasses well. So again, why buy this headset? Because for myself at my age, I do not need the best audio... the best mic, the longest battery... what I do need is a super comfortable, wireless, surround sound headset, that does everything I need while performing well. This headset delivers. You can have the best audio in the world but if it means that in a hour my ears are hurting or I am uncomfortable, then what is the point?

    PRO:
    - Amazing comfort (I would dare say the best in the "Gaming" category)
    - A jack of all trades headset
    - Base stand has came a long ways and the new style is very nice
    - Two ways to charge (magnetic base or by USB)

    NEG:
    - Cost
    - Its not for audiophiles. If you are a audiophile you will be unhappy with the sound, go back and buy your "stereo" headset.
    - Software, I place it here because while its amazing, I am not sure the average user can utilize it to its fullest.
    - Sound bleed... Loud volume does indeed bleed out, they sell a kit to silence it, but yea a consideration for some.
    - I have always thought the need for the mic to be basically vertical to be in the "off" mode is silly and takes a while to get used to flipping it all the way up for it to be off...

Overall the A50 has just gotten better over the years and while the audio quality may no longer be the best in the segment anymore, it still delivers dam good audio, and ill sacrifice having the best audio by a few points for comfort. I will put it this way; my older A50 suffers from the volume wheel adjustment problem(they have re-designed this now so no longer a issue), and even then I have continued to use it because its that good, that instead of buying a different brand I have stuck with them because they are that good, and its a minor annoyance compared to my enjoyment of the headset.

    Happy Shopping.

Originally purchased one and it did not arrive, so had to buy another one after Amazon refunded for the original lost one. I had been wanting to purchase one of these for a long time. I am a big headset guy and have tried almost every one. I have had steel series P800, turtle beaches, and hyperX Revolver, PS Gold, and even tried the Polk striker (as recommended by a friend). I will say this the best headset I have ever had. Yes, they are very pricey but they are like driving a new Cadillac. The negative reviews I have seen have been mostly by people who cant afford or won't pay 300 plus for a headset. That is a legitimate argument. That is a lot of money for people on a budget. You would be stupid to just buy something just because it's expensive. That should not shape your review, though. The question is..Is it worth it? I would say what level of gaming are you into? If your'e a huge gamer, than yes, they are absolutely worth it.

Pros: Superior Comfort. These at first felt like they were going be loose on my ears but they adjusted well and sometimes, I forget these are a headset..like soft cotton bunnies on your ears.

Sound quality. These have a great depth sound. I would say the bass is probably the most prevalent outstanding aspect of the sound. Directional sound is great also.

Battery Life: Good battery. Have not had any issue with battery lasting or charging issues

Easy Setup. This is a simple setup. Love the charging unit being using a a wireless detector. Very simple but ingenious idea.

Cons: Mic? I might say the mic is not the greatest ever made but it's pretty darn good. Voice is crisp, clear with no cracking and the auto mute when you put mic up is a nice feature.

Price: This may be the only actual con. These are pricey and for only being able to use them on my PS4, that's a real issue and concern. Now, if you will be using these a lot, the price can be explained and I use mine all the time.

5.0 out of 5 stars My PS4 Headphone odyssey ends with the A50s
Reviewed in Canada on January 15, 2019
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 + PCEdition: HeadsetVerified Purchase
I've been searching for a really good PS4 headset. my requirements were as follows:
    1. Great sound and surround capabilities
    2. mic monitoring
    3. Wireless (if possible, but flexible)

I used the PS Gold white version for several years, very good value for the price at the time, ticked all the boxes, fit great. Worked great and were comfortable until the hinges broke. This started my quest. I wanted to go high-end. Maybe I should have just bought another $100 pair of headphones but I felt I wanted something of quality...so off I went:

I tried using a MicModi adapter with my B&O H6s, pretty good but no mic monitoring and no surround as they are plugged directly to the controller.

Then I tried the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 + Superamp, good and comfortable while it worked. The Superamp stopped working and wouldn't update. I also didn't like that I had to have an optical cord and usb cord running from the PS4 across the living room floor since they aren't wireless. If these had been wireless to begin with they would have been an A+. I just got tired of needing my phone to adjust settings with the superamp.

Next, I tried the Razer Thresher 7.1. When I would switch surround on and off, the sound would be a bit distorted. Maybe it was my settings, I dunno but it made me rarely use that setting. Great customer service at Razer though, nice people. The main drawback, for me, was in comfort. I found the tightness to be too much. I couldn't get used to the clamping force of them and eventually decided to return them altogether. They just didn't fit me comfortably and I found that when I'd lay my head back, the back of the HPs would hit the headrest. Not too bad, just a bit annoying. A lot of people on-line say there is no mic monitoring on these and I can tell you that there is mic minotoring! So these might be the ones for you if they fit well.

Finally, I saw a sale on the A50s (they seem to rarely be on sale) and had heard such great things that I decided to try them - what a solid pair of headphones! It's been about two weeks and so far, so good. They work great right out of the box. I did find the instructions (in a fold out poster-style) to be rather silly as I always prefer a booklet. sound is really good and the chat volume is really good. Love the simplicity of the mute function (just flick the mouthpiece up rather than searching for a button). Like the softtouch coating on the earcups and the controls are really good. I probably need to re-read the instructions as I find some of the button operations to be a bit confusing (turning surround on an off for instance, seems to be no indicator of what mode you are in?). They are very comfortable but I can already seem that they might get a bit warm for long sessions, unlike the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2s which I found to be the most comfortable of everything I tried. These are very comfortable as well (w/ or w/o glasses). If you can get these at a good price, take the plunge.

    - Inanlambrico puedes moverte libremente
    - Trabaja a 5GHz dificilmente tendras interferencias

    - Bateria no intercambiable

5.0 out of 5 stars Bassi che danno i Brividi. Comodissime
Reviewed in Italy on November 17, 2019

5.0 out of 5 stars Erwartungen voll erfüllt

Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 + PCEdition: HeadsetVerified Purchase

    Verpackung + Aussehen:
+stabile, hochwertige und optisch ansprechende Verpackung
    +modernes und spezielles Design
+Basisstation farblich passend und mit schicker Anzeige

    Sound:
    +grandioser Sound in jeder Tonhöhe
    +toller Raumklang

Xiberia t19, hyperX cloud 2, corsair avoid, tritton katana, razer kraken, Schenheisser Game One, Turtle Beach elite 800.
