The Powerbuilt Unijack is designed to safely lift and hold both regular and unibody cars and trucks.

All Unibody vehicles have factory-approved lifting points to prevent damage when jacking up the vehicle. But with a conventional jack, it’s challenging to properly lift and hold a unibody vehicle, because once the vehicle is raised with a jack, there’s no space left to add a jackstand.

    Not for sports car with low clearance
    It is useful but does not work with my sports car which has a 7" clearance. I only have one jack point in front of my vehicle. In order to slide the jack under my car, I have to first jack it up and place a piece of wood under the tire to clear the 7". However, in order to gain height, I have to first extend the extension piece all the way up, slide the jack under my car and then start pumping. I cannot do that of course since I only have a 7" clearance. In order to do so, I have to place at least a foot thick piece of wood under my tire. The scenario is nicely explained in the HowToDoItDude "Powerbuilt Unijack 4000 review" YouTube video.

    My vehicle ( Ford transit connect van) sits low to the ground making it almost impossible to do an oil change myself. I use these to jack up the front end of my vehicle high I enough for me to get under there. Because my vehicle is so low, I have to drive forward onto two small sections of two by fours I made just for this purpose. This raises the front end up so that these jacks will fit underneath. They’re about half an inch too tall otherwise but once they’re under there and locked in place, they work very well and feel very safe. I was able to do an oil change in about 20 minutes and saved myself all that waiting and over $100 and never really knowing for sure if they actually changed the filter. These things will pay for themselves in no time they are well made and a good price. They’re small and easy to store away when not in use. If I had 2 more, I could lift the entire vehicle off the ground safely and easily. Now that I have them, I’ll be safely changing oil and doing other repairs on all my vehicles .

    Very happy with this uni-jack. It has a nice wide base and is not too terribly heavy. I like that the safety lock feature works (I tested it) after a short distance but the fact that you can adjust the starting height by pinning the extension adds another level of safety. I am thinking about getting a 2 ton to carry in my jeep but it is a bit too bulky to fit in the jack box......

    This Powerbuilt combination hydraulic jack and jack stand is handy. I purchased two and use them to lift my truck prior to setting my 3 ton ESCO jack stands in place. After dropping the truck onto the stands, I pump the Powerbuilt back up until it contacts the frame for back-up support.

    Pros: Powerful, heavy and stable.
    Cons: A bit quirky to use at first, although a little practice before the job starts sorts thing out.
    The pump lever for the hydraulic jack comes in two sections. It's connection point is poorly designed and will not stay in place. I modified mine by fusing the two together permanently with JB Weld. While I was at it, I added a hand grip to the 'grip' end of the lever for better purchase. And lastly, the safety bar has a spring loaded ball bearing inserted (like a ratchet) to keep the bar from falling out of possession after insertion. However, it's so poorly placed that the safety bar slides in and out of position with no resistance when not under actual pressure. This last issue caused me to drop a star from the review.

    A lot of people wrote bad reviews on this Jack stand lift but I ignor it to test it and it worked out great. I believe most people in reality world do not understand how to use these Jack stand lift properly or just think they know. These Jack stand lift clearly state for a suv use why buy it for a Hyundai or a Honda I don’t get it, or you can’t release it read the manual please idiot, you have to release the Jack lift locking clip then slowly adjust the lower fastener to release it down by turning it to the left but I can’t blame everyone sometimes you really do receive a defective one, but anyways I’m a extrem off road guy for 2 years now and this Jack is sturdy and will built from other one that I have experienced with. I put the 6,000 Pound to the test today but receive it a week before, I use it twice today on my 2011 4Runner with a 3inch lift kit with 33inch tires and it worked great. I was able to take off my wheels and suspension to work on both side for around 4 hours. I even shift the car around which is not recommended but even then I need to to get the suspension out and it held its spot really will with out it shifting from its spot. I recommend this Jack stand lift to any off road vehicle user or not, It weigh less then any roll around Jack lift. Anything 4inch lift kit or higher you will not have any room to lift it high enough to take off your wheels. it’s compact and easy to move around, yes you would need a flat surface ground but anyone here knows common sense or you can be like those who left bad reviews on this Jack stand lift cause you don’t know how to use it properly. Anyways I’m not saying I know it all but I experienced it already.

    Love this Jack stand lift until this day when I purchase it, it is still holding up no leaks, still working like the first time I use it awesome 5 star jack stand lift.

    I purchased two of these jacks and one will not hold jack oil. I can fill it back up and use it, but it leaks out enough that it will not re-lift to release the stand. The other jack I have has a dented cast iron foot on the vertical riser. How do you dent cast iron? Pot metal most likely. These are a great idea, but poorly made. I would have paid more for a better quality product if I could find it. *** updated 07/21/22 *** ALLTRADE TOOLS CUSTOME SERVICE IS THE WORST!!!     The jack initially appears to be very well built. I have just purchased the unit and have not used it on a vehicle yet.

    Before I purchased the unijack I did a lot of checking on the lift dimensions as there seemed to be much discrepancy in the reviews. The box says that the jack is 11 inches tall at the minimum height. YES, that is the true dimension. I had replies to my question of from 11 to 12 inches. I am not sure where people were measuring.

    The information also states that the jack has a range of 11 to 21 inches. Again, this is true, but this wide range is only achieved by raising the jack support section. With the jack support in the lowest pin level, the jack is at 11 inches. With the jack support in the highest pin position the jack is at 15 inches.

    The most important piece of information that is missing anywhere is the stroke length of the bottle jack. One gentlemen was very kind to reply to my inquiry about the stoke length with the CORRECT and EXACT measurement. The STROKE LENGTH of the bottle jack is 6.5 inches. For my case, with the clearance that I have to place the jack under my 2016 Jeep Cherokee, I have to start the jack at its minimum height of 11 inches. This means that my maximum lift height is 11 inches plus 6.5 inches, for a maximum lift height of 17.5 inches. For my requirement this is sufficient with about 1 inch to spare. THIS JACK WILL NOT LIFT FROM 11 TO 21 INCHES IN ONE GO.

    If you start with the jack support extended to 15 inches, then the maximum lift height will be 21 and a bit inches. There are four holes in the jack support about 1 inches apart, so that is the starting point adjustment that you have.

    I hope that my explanation makes sense and helps some people make a more informed decision. Thank you to those who replied to my inquiry.

    UPDATE November 03, 2018. Well, I used this jack in anger two days ago to put my winter tyres on my 2016 Jeep Cherokee after we had out first snow in Edmonton . The jack/support worked great. Very stable, very strong. I used a modified hockey puck to sit on top of the support side. I cut two slots on one side of the puck to match the support top profile, and a small groove on the other side to accept the pinch weld. This cut is basically more of a guide to ensue the jack is centred on the pinch weld. I glued a piece of hard cardboard on the bottom side of the puck to fit between the two grooves so that the puck would not be pushed down and deformed on each lift. After jacking the puck showed not signs of deformation.

    Just one point. When you release the pressure off the jack and lower the vehicle, the bottle jack will NOT continue to fall down to the original starting position, unlike a floor jack. You will need to reach under the vehicle and put some force on the top of the jack to push the piston down. I only needed to move mine down a bit then could tip the jack out and push the remainder of the distance to the bottom once out from under the vehicle. Just make sure that you have the jack support stop bar lifted. I think that once the jack is used more, it might not be as stiff to push down. Still a great safe jack.

    I bought this as my truck came with a lift and all my normal jacks couldn't even get close.
    The one review I saw on here the person complained. The complaint saying this product is pointless seems to be more that they bought the wrong tool for their vehicle.
    This is great for a truck and doesn't damage anything if you know how to use a jack.
