Customers have mixed opinions about the fit of the mechanical lighter. Some mention it fits correctly, sits firmly in place, and has a water/dust cap that seats perfectly. Customers are mixed about the plug. Some mention it's a great 12v socket, with a quality rubber gasket, and comes with the hardware. However, others say that the socket swallows the plugs and will not maintain connection, the plug falls out, and the auxiliary plug does not provide constant contact. The socket is spring loaded and will eject the plug when you hit a bump.

"This is a great little power port. It mounts easily with a locking nut on the rear, then all you have to do is run your power lines to it...." Read more

"...a stationary object -with no movement and no vibrations- the plug only makes contact when I press and hold it in...." Read more

Customers have mixed opinions about the mount. Some mention that the mounting plate is nice, it mounts easily with a locking nut on the rear, and the flange is removable. However, others say that the mount is not very good, it's tight, and was a trick to get it to mount properly.

"It's well made, has a cover and is lockable. The mounting plate is also nice. You can use the plate or just mount the socket by drilling a hole...." Read more

"...On the one I received, the mounting panel was not molded properly; there is only a very tiny edge (.025") of plastic holding the nut on the bottom...." Read more

"This is a great little power port. It mounts easily with a locking nut on the rear, then all you have to do is run your power lines to it...." Read more

"...The fit between the unit and the mounting plate is a little tight and was a trick to get it to seat, but that makes for a better seal." Read more

Picture Uploaded to view up-top. EnjoyI ordered this item on Friday, and received it Via USPS Monday at 1:30pm (Fast enough?)It shipped so fast, The Tracking number's ETA is Tuesday (tomorrow!)Once I received it, I went to work!I installed it on my 2001 Suzuki GSX750f Katana street bike. I chose this one specifically for a few reasons and in my personal opinion, it met every angle of criteria I wanted. As it sits, it looks like it was a Factory Install on my bike. You would not know it was an aftermarket add-on. It is not "exposed" to elements inside or out (which is one of the reasons I chose it.. for a Motorcycle.. Outside...) It has a Water/Dust cap that seats perfectly with no issues or pop outs. I did not use, or need to use the square plate to screw it down (other applications may require the use of it, Good to have for free?)Many other models i looked at had bare metal exposed on the bottom side (rust?) and cost near $7.00+Mine cost 4.99 + 4.99 shipping ($9.98)Pros: Price $4.99 - Water/dust cap - Not exposed top or bottom to weather.Cons: $4.99 Shipping cost (Need Amazon Prime!) Needs Picture of Backside in Ad to know how it will need to be wired once received (Helps to order the right wires if needed)I am not dissatisfied what so ever.. This is exactly what i wanted, ordered, received. Ty
