    I hate the typical pin that uses a hairpin clip retainer. Even if you keep it greased you sometimes whack a knuckle or take a chunk out of a fingernail when pulling the pin off.

    This "MASTER LOCK" hitch pin does not incorporate any sort of security lock. Looking at the photos on the Amazon phone app, the barrel at the end appears to be a key lock. It is not. It is just spring-loaded. While I do admire the design, it was not suitable for my needs. Apparently the MASTER LOCK brand no longer implies that a product has a key or combination lock built in. However, if you are looking for a non-locking hitch pin that is easy to install and remove, this one appears well-designed and well-made.

    I bought it mainly because I'm tired of my hitch pins rusting and being difficult to remove. The rotating end gets rid of the safety clip, which is an added bonus. So long as it doesn't rust I'll be a satisfied customer.

    Update 20-Jul-23 Have been very happy with these pins. The stainless steel seems to be easier to slip into the receiver/hitch than galvanized pins, and the rotating retainer end is so much nicer than my other hitch pins that require a hairpin clip retainer. I'll be ordering more to replace my other galvanized (rusty, hairpin clip) hitch pins. Time will tell if the spring in the rotating end is stainless too; if it rusts and breaks, I'm back to square one.

    I love this kind of hitch pin, have it for years. I just wanted another one so that each hitch has its own pin. Was pretty difficult to get, no store offers it anymore.     I love these pins. No need for keys, or fiddling with clips to lock the pin in place. Had one of these for years until “somebody” borrowed my ball and gooseneck with the pin. The ball came back, but not the pin. “Somebody” needed it more than me I guess.

    So I bought two new ones and they will last me until they too are borrowed. Solid 5/8 stainless steel with a spring loaded flip lock at the end to lock it in place. It works. Never found a better pin anywhere.

    Do you need a lock? Well, I have never had a receiver stolen, not even in the many campgrounds that we have been to. And for this price per unit, I don’t really mind if some poor soul needs it more than I do.

    Good price, fast delivery, solid product. Thank you Amazon for delivering it ahead of schedule.

    i drive a ram 1500 and it fits great. its quick and easy to instal hitch which is nice. i dont keep a hitch in my reciever i always remove when not in use so not sure how it would hold up if left in the elements.
