Product Description
The Edelbrock/Russell Speed Bleeder replaces the original bleeder valves in calipers and wheel cylinders with a spring-loaded one-way ball and check valve design. This unique check ball design opens to allow the old fluid and air out and closes automatically between the pumps preventing the old fluid and air from re-entering the line. A special coating on the speed bleeder threads keep it from admitting air into the system and keeps expelled air and fluid out. The check ball is centerless ground 410 stainless steel which resists corrosion and galling. It features a patented thread sealing system that displaces air and moisture during thread engagement as well as eliminates air from being pulled back into the system during bleeding.

I installed mine in 2017, and now 6 years later they still work perfectly fine! I just did my annual brake job and bled the system without any issues. 100% recommended!
10-1-2019: Amazon's photo has nothing to do with speed bleeders or any brake part. It shows a lift gate product. Not sure what this is about. Amazon's quality control has declined it seems.
Product update: These 10 mm still work well on my rear wheel cylinders. But I replaced two front calipers and the 7 mm speed bleeders need to be replaced with new ones. The thread seal is gone and air seeps in through the threads. It would be nice if they sold thread sealer for these so I can reuse the bleeders or simply renew the seal every so often.
These bolts looked larger than than the 10mm OEM caliper bolts on my 2013 Outback, but fit just fine with a 7/16 wrench. They did come with factory thread sealant, which perhaps made them appear a bit bigger than the old bolts.
So I wasn't surprised they installed very snugly. I appreciated that after having dealt with bubble-producing leaky bleeder threads in the past. The snugness combined with the check valve made me feel very confident that air was not going to get into my brake lines via the bleeder screws during brake bleeding, even if the collection tube fell off the bleeder.
I noticed these bleeders drain much more slowly than a bleeder without a check valve, but had no problem eliminating any air which entered the system when swapping the old ones out. I bled each brake line with a Motive 0107 power bleeder immediately after installing each new bleeder screw. I cannot recommend power bleeding enough in combination with these bleeder screws. I'll never go back to the headache of pedal-pumping brake fluid changes ever again.
Followed the nonstandard Subaru bleeding order, drained and refilled the reservoir, put everything back together, and was relieved to find the brake pedal was just as firm as before the bleed. Brake bleeding was incredibly fast without an assistant and succeeded on the first try, which I don't think I've ever managed before. Power bleeding with these bleeder screws installed was a breeze. Can't wait to do it again the next time, when I won't even have to worry about swapping out the screws. It really will be about as easy as an oil change.
Yes, they require a 11 mm flare wrench not a 10mm like stock. No big deal. Worked perfectly.
I like the concept of this product, I like the practical application of this product, and I like the originality of this product. It works.
However, I do not like the incorrectly sized part I received. I was supposed to order a different particular item (the 639570)(with 20/20 hindsight and some more research) because according to the original SpeedBleeder website.....
THAT (the 639570) is the correct product for a 1998 Subaru Impreza L Coupe. Amazon says this is not correct, but I will have to obtain this size bleeder to verify that accuracy.
(sidenote: 7mm x 1 (on Amazon) and M7 x 1.0 (inventor website, look at the SB7100) sound awfully similar to me.)
I ordered the Edelbrock/Russell 639560 because Amazon (incorrectly) informed me that that product was the one that "fit" my vehicle. Horsemuck. I would love to send in my old ones for a pair of the CORRECT sized ones free of charge, though I have my doubts. (I have a photo of my OEM bleeders next to the ones that "fit" from Amazon.)
This posting is listed on the Edelbrock/Russell 639570 and 639560 page because I want consumers to do their THOROUGH RESEARCH in buying something from the know-it-all website as opposed to the inventors website.
No bad blood to Amazon; I like buying things from here. But I am disgruntled by the fact that I have to do the job more than ONCE when it should have all been done right the first time. Granted - I did not fully verify my information before buying...So my issue is that the product "fit" was inaccurate and it would help out a lot more than leaving comments to inform/warn others if the correct information was listed.
If it ain't broken, don't fix it.
Amazon - your move.
