This Just Made My Whole Summer
I live in the middle of the woods and the mosquitoes have been horrendous. I love to sit on my deck and relax but they've been driving me inside after only a few minutes. I looked at screen houses and bubble structures but they're expensive and I don't have much storage for large items. Plus, here in the woods they would just get destroyed be it from the elements, squirrels, falling tree branches, etc., so I've been reluctant to spend much money. Then by chance I happened upon this Coghlan's mosquito net a few days ago. I was actually looking at camping equipment and saw this by chance because it was a Prime Day Deal. I've glanced at mosquito nets before, but they're either frilly (meant for indoor decor) or fairly expensive. This one was perfect. I had an idea I was anxious to test: Could I put this net over my deck umbrella and create a little bug free sitting space? The answer is yes! I set it up today and sat in wondrous amazement as I enjoyed NOT getting eaten alive.I got the green color and I'm glad I did. It blends in nicely with my surroundings and I can see through it very easily and can see the birds at my feeders, etc. I chose the 240 hole count because it means the mesh is finer to prevent smaller bugs. It still lets in those tiny no-seeums/black flies but I only had a couple of them as the worst of black fly season has now passed here in Northern New England. But it didn't let in a single mosquito the entire time and they were surrounding me. I giggled like a child at them hovering outside the net, unable to get me.I should mention (in case anyone else wants to try something similar), that my deck umbrella is a smaller size (5' diameter, and my table is just a small cafe table with one full size deck chair. And it's just me. I also lowered the height of the umbrella in order for it to drape onto the deckboards, because there would have been a gap at full height. So this would be too small for a full size patio set with multiple chairs. But it works great for me, I'm 5'6" and can just stand up under it this way. And you can of course hang it using the loops without an umbrella (as it's intended) I'm really glad I got the double size as it's the perfect size for this purpose. Dipping under it to get in and out is easier than I expect as well, I thought it would be annoying or let bugs in but it's fine.I love it and I also bought a second one for camping. It even came with a little baggie of nails, anchors, string and cup hooks plus a nice net drawstring bag to keep the net in. It rolls up easily and fits back in the bag easily and is extremely lightweight for convenient travel/camping.This was a fantastic purchase and a great value. I'm a little worried about tearing it, it's very fine netting and looks like it would rip easily, but the price is fair enough that I would immediately replace it without thinking twice. I'll now be able to sit out on my deck for the remainder of the season in a zen-like state of bliss instead of waving my arms around like a lunatic and swearing like a trucker.By the way, they do sell round nets specifically made to go over umbrellas for a more proper fit, but they were more expensive, usually white and had a weird open-topped design that I disliked. This suits my needs perfectly and didn't cost an arm and a leg.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for keeping mosquitoes out of my chicken coop.
Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2016
I have had success for years using a Coghlan's double wide mosquito net to cover my chicken coop to prevent my hens from getting bitten by mosquitoes. Many chicken/outdoor pet owners overlook the value of protecting their animals from mosquito bites. When you use a mosquito net, you're not only helping to keep your animals from experiencing a lot of discomfort and annoyance of relentless mosquito bites, but you're also helping to reduce the chances of your animal catching a life threatening disease that might be carried by mosquito. Several bird diseases such as avian flu are carried by mosquito. I live in Louisiana, and mosquitoes are really prevalent here, so I leave one of these double wide nets on my Eglu Cube coop with attached standard run 24/7 in the spring, summer, and fall. The size of the double wide net are a perfect fit for the Eglu Cube with attached run-- not too big, not too small. In the morning when I let the birds out of the coop, I pull some of the net over the front of the run and pull it over and behind the door, tucking it in slightly to hold it in place. It stays put even on very windy days. At night, I cover the entire coop and run with the netting so that no misquotes can get in. Since I leave this on 24/7 outdoors, it gets exposed to a lot of abuse like intense sun and hard rain, so one of these nets usually only lasts me about 6 months, but for the small cost, it's worth every penny to use these as a disposable item and get a new one when there's too many holes. My friend has a pet rabbit that he keeps in an outdoor hutch, and I talked him into getting a net to put over the hutch so his poor rabbit doesn't get bitten up all day and night. If you keep pets outdoors, be a good owner and get a mosquito net.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect addition for bug season
Reviewed in Canada on June 26, 2023
I purchased for a June canoe trip during mosquito and black fly season.
Pros: keeps all the bugs out, no harsh chemicals, cost effective, big and light weight.
Cons: short as you can't stand up in it while it touches the ground, cheap rope included that frays easily and the bottom blows in the wind (I wish it had grommets at the bottom to pegged done).
Overall I'm impressed for the price and will use it when I know the bugs are bad!
