Customers like the size of the knife. They say it's the perfect size for their needs, it fits well in their medium-large hands, and the hilt is four inches. The handle is sufficiently large, and it'll fit their hand surprisingly well. The relative short length is nice, as it won't poke something when sitting down, and has a sufficiently large cord wrapping. The belt holster works great and holds the knife and fire starter perfectly.

Customers are mixed about the quality of the tools. Some mention that it's a great knife, easy to use, and a fantastic firesteel. Customers are mixed about the appearance of the knife. Some mention that the finish looks a lot better in person than in the picture, it has a good design, good steel, good feel, and good nylon. However, others say that the knife came to them as dull as a butter knife, the blades on both knives were pretty dull, and it is cheap looking and feeling. The instructions are unique and can be difficult to follow, but once you get your head around it. Overall, the product has mixed reviews and opinions are mixed.

139 customers mention60 positive79 negative

Customers are mixed about the sharpness of the knife. Some mention that the edge was sharp when they received it, while others say that it was not great. The steel may not hold an edge like a higher end brand, and the rough edges need a little work. Some customers also mention that it starts cutting through at the bottom where the point rests.

"...The original edge had a horrible angle, it almost seemed like a 90-degree angle (I know it wasn't that bad, but it did seem like it)...." Read more

"...One of them sees a pretty fair amount of use, and it still has a fantastic edge that hasn't required any maintenance to re-hone the edge...." Read more

"...The sheath is also very poor quality, the knife stabbed through it on the first day before i even got to use it to do anything...." Read more

"...The blade has a nice smooth matte-black finish, a sharp edge and is notched (gimped) at the top of the blade where your thumb naturally rests...." Read more

Inexpensive, fun little project ...
4 Stars
Inexpensive, fun little project ...
I read a bunch of reviews on this inexpensive (cheap!) piece of Chinese iron before dropping the whopping six bucks for it. I knew what to expect and I surely didn't need another knife. However, I thought it would make for a fun project ... and it certainly did. I modified the package as follows: (See my customer images as well)1) I cut off the crappy handle wrap and re-wrapped with real 550 paracord, camo of course, and also added a paracord lanyard with a tight slip knot so I can pull-tighten it to my hand if needed for a safer no-slip grip on the knife should I ever use it for something potentially dangerous that may cause my hand to slip.2) I cut a plastic insert from a milk jug for inside the sheath, folded it and dropped it snugly into the main compartment. With the fold on the bottom, the knife point can no longer poke through or wear the fabric.3) I removed the string lanyard from the fire starter and replaced it with a matching paracord slipknot lanyard that is large enough to loop around the sheath and tighten down. Now, the tool is snug in it's outer pocket and lashed to the sheath so it can't fall out.4) I put a far better edge on the knife. Pretty dismal out of the box, and that's what I fully expected. It's pretty soft steel, so I don't expect it hold an edge terribly well, but that's OK, I have plenty of far better knives I wear and use regularly.I see this knife for what it is, a little back up edge for your cargo pants pocket, your car, your bug out bag, or your little day pack ... whatever. I don't really envision it on my belt. Also, it's nice to have a back up fire starting method. (I always carry a small container of Vaseline soaked cotton balls, magnesium, and a small Bic anyway.)I really had fun just noodling with the product to customize it for myself. Bottom line, absolutely worth the six bucks. How in the world can you find entertainment cheaper than that and then have something in hand when it's over?

It's my new edc. Solid in my hands. Looks good on my belt. Also a fire starter in case I get list in the woods. I hike a lot. It is a great reassurance that I will be ok.
