Volume and fidelity loss is better than obnoxious buzzing and whirling.

Volume and fidelity loss is better than obnoxious buzzing and whirling.
Well made, does what it says. I have a 26 year old mazda and when I charge whatever audio device that's aux-ed into my car I hear the buzzing/whirling. When I got this in my PO Box, I immediately plugged it in for the ride home. Lo and behold it worked! I drove all the way home in stop and go traffic and enjoyed my buzz free music. While parked at home, I decided to find out if the volume lost was noticeable to my own ears. My findings were disappointing. The noticeable amount of volume lost was almost the amount of "loudness" the buzzing was at its maximum. I would stay, if you have your iPhone plugged it, it was roughly 1 or 2 volume down button presses; or 10-20% subjectively. That means it will probably not perform loud enough for freeway driving in my car. So I gave it to my girlfriend who has a proper stereo in her car with all the wattage she could ever need but also shares this problem. I did however, order off for another one of these to have for those times I really have to charge my phone. So its worth it; but it does cause a loss in volume and I have to say, I noticed the music was less "full" even when I lowered the volume of the unfiltered test. So there's not only a loss of volume, but richness as well. Oh well, sure beats the heck out of BUUUUUZZZZZ WHIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRR! I'll use it when I must charge my phone, and when I don't; I'll raw dawg my phone on the aux cable. Also, I've included images of the unit itself. Its held together with friction and hot-glue. Not an overly quality made product. It does however use isolation transformerS (two) ... so its not some hippy feel good product or magic black box that you buy and it works because it makes you think it works. It actually has the proper components to eliminate ground loop problems (root cause of the buzzing). So they spent your $10 on making the device perform adequately and just slapped it together with a plastic case and hot glue. They also have nice rubber-like grommets to keep the aux cable from chafing on the hard plastic case, NICE! You paid $10, what more do you want? The transformers alone are worth $10 (or more) at radio shack. And admittedly I had to PRY the case apart...so it was made adequately as well. Not enough to keep out the curious however!
