Installation was straightforward on my 2006 Tacoma 4x4, I didn't even bother to jack up the vehicle but just slid under it to install the springs. I installed springs front and rear of the axle of each leaf spring set. Installation was made easier by the purchase of a long 11/16 socket. The spring brackets cleared the brake lines and leaf brackets OK. It was a somewhat tight fit laterally but as far as I can see nothing is rubbing.
I tried first with only the rear spring helpers installed and I probably could have gotten by with only them but, since I had purchased two sets, I went ahead and installed the front ones too. Installation took about an hour for two sets.
I'm quite pleased with the ride. No longer does the truck bottom out on every dip in the road. Now, it rides like a 4v4 truck should. I had the rear helpers adjusted to 1 1/4 inches of shown thread (past the first nut) and the front to 1 inch of shown thread. I tweaked the tension a bit to even them out after unloading the truck (unloaded I could barely bounce the rear of the truck, and I'm not a small guy). Therefore, I set them both to 1 inch)). With a fiberglass topper and a full load of mulch bags it rode great -- I hit every drainage dip in the road I could find to try to bottom the suspension out but it never did. I'm looking forward to hauling a loaded trailer now, whereas before a trailer really made the springs sag. I can detect no more "bumpiness" on a normal road than without the springs installed; in fact, it seems to ride more like it did when the truck was new. before the notorious Tacoma springs started to sag (I never got around to getting the TSB done).
I wish I'd ordered these years ago. I had them in mind for a long time but never got around to it. If you have saggy springs consider the product -- it's inexpensive (less than a bag of groceries) and I think you will be pleased.
Excellent results, Spring kit really helped with axle wrap. Highly recommend! Here's my take,
Pros
Easy install, one 11/16 wrench.
Ride is better, got rid of the “thud” at stops and start.
Extra benefit for towing and hauling.
Very ridged and high quality.
Cons
It’s a known fact and bit frustrating when installing springs on certain models. On my model you can see in my pics, the rear U-bolt lands right over the tailpipe. I’ve read on some Toyota forums hellwig makes angled U- bolts for certain applications. For $65 you’d think they could throw a couple in for mounting options. I was able to make it work by cutting a 1/2” off one side of you bolt above tailpipe. So far I’ve had no problems.
Spring kit is worth it, but minus 1 star for no angled U-bolts. Install took 1 hour. Check pics, leaf springs are not sagging. I also torqued rear U-bolt down to the calm on rear leaf, seems to be the sweet spot.

I have to say that this may have been the best money spent in quite some time! The old Frontier gained about an inch of lift, but in reality it could have been height that was lost over a number of years carrying various loads (and maybe the occasional one that was pushing things to excess).
The handling is firm, but not rough, and combined with upgraded shocks added a couple of years ago, I can honestly say that it’s like driving a brand new vehicle.
My only beef is that the threading on the U-bolts arrived a bit chafed, so it took some effort to ensure that I wasn’t cross threading them when installing the included nuts. Also, I used blue Locktight as an added measure, as lock washers are not included and Hellwig recommends that fasteners be inspected periodically. The cross plate included with the U-Bolts distorted a bit even though nuts were torqued to the recommended spec. I found that to be a bit strange.
I am currently on a family outing and was tasked with carrying all the necessities for seven people over four days. Loaded up, the truck barely registered the cargo and the two hour drive was as smooth as silk with vastly improved handling and significantly minimized body roll.
Overall, an excellent buy for the money!
