After a few minutes , i realized there was a pattern. It would stay on for exactly 45 seconds then the light bulb would turn off for 30 seconds, then back on for 45 sec . I thought maybe i missed a tiny detail and i did not want it to return it so .....
1-I did read the instructions 5 times both in English and Spanish and found no solution to this problem .
2-I went to the website listed , and the product is not even listed
3-I called the 1-800 number and a recording said they work 9-5 M-F. Waited for Monday and made the call at 4:31pm only to hear a different recording saying they work 9 to 4:30pm and i should leave a message with the all my info and the reason why i called.
So save your time and find another product ...also take the time to read a few reviews. this time i did not and wasted all precious time
I found these and installed them a few weeks ago. So far, they work just as expected. the old ones we had were on timers, so they would go out a few hours after dark, which worked fine until a dreary day and they would come on in the afternoon and then not come back on again at night unless we reset the lights. These come on whenever it gets "dusky" outside and stay on all night which is great in our dark neighborhood. No complaints yet!
That said there are some important things you should know.
1) This product raises or lowers the bulb location. If you have a small fixture the sensor/light might not fit. Or you may find the new bulb location undesirable.
2) This is a general use product. The timing of on/off is greatly affected by how much daylight the sensor can see. The unit sensitivity is somewhat customizable. You can remove the photo eye cover, if the light stays on too long. I've installed 5 of these on my primary residence. Each location "sees" a different amount of daylight. Therefore I removed the photo cell "shade cover" on some locations and not others. Also, for my porch location I not only removed the "shade" but also cut off part of the small tube below the shade. This allows the photo cell to "see" more daylight in this darker location, causing the light to turn off as desired.
Summary - this device works very well, but is not suited to all locations.
I hope this is helpful, Don
