First application I mixed as directed. I sprayed on leaves after watering throughly. It worked, but not completely. After a little more research, I did the 2nd application. I watered thoroughly and mixed double potency. I added a little bit of Dawn dishwashing liquid to mixture and switched to a prayer that sprays mist (not a stream). I SOAKED the leaves. I also read that the plant should have at least 3 leaves out before application (mine all did, not sure how important that was but adding just the same). This 2nd application worked (so far, but in the past new growth would have happened by now, so I have high hopes). I will watch and retreat immediately on new growth. This is in a flower bed, not the yard. Also, I didn't water for 3 days after application. Good luck everyone. This tried to kill me, I'm thinking I won!
I bought Sedgehammer+ in April after reading reviews here, mixed it in my sprayer tank (1 pouch per 1 gallon, a per instructions), and sprayed everything that looked like a sedge. The sedges didn't die quickly (much slower than Roundup kills regular weeds), but they did stop growing and eventually the sedges looked brownish and died.
My yard is approximately 4000 sq ft after subtracting the house and driveway concrete areas, so is much larger than the 1000 sq ft that one pouch (one gallon, mixed) can treat. However, I did not spray the entire yard with Sedgehsmmer+. I only sprayed the edges themselves, so one pouch was sufficient to treat the areas where I needed it.
Attached are two photos. The first was taken in the most infested area on April 25th, just after I sprayed. The second was taken this morning (June 4th). As you can see, ALL of the sedges are gone. What's left there is the yucky, wimpy Bermudagrass (NOT recommended for any yard!). I'm waiting for the St Augustine in the top of the photo to fill in. It's gradually taking over the yard from each neighbor. (St Augustine is really the only effective grass for south Louisiana, btw.)
I can't say enough to recommend Sedgehammer+ No Surfactant Needed. It was easy to use because or now includes its own surfactant, it's effective, and it didn't kill anything but sedges. If you have sedges in your yard or garden, use Sedgehammer. It works!

Follow-up: The version that I bought from another Amazon seller was likely counterfeit, it was a 4-pack for about $40.
