When I ordered these tie downs I thought they were overkill for the things I usually haul in my pickup or trailer. I got them mainly because the price was not much more than the other ones I was considering. I thought, why not get the best I could afford even if they were a little stronger than what I really needed. I've used them twice and I will say now that they are so much better than what I've been using that I'm glad I went ahead and got them. Things that I tie down stay tied down. I mean, they do not move until I want them to. They're easy to use, strong and the ratchet works great both on the tightening and releasing phase. The handle is plenty big as is the release latch, the webbing stays tight and does not stretch. I've used a lot of different kinds of tie downs over the years both for myself and when helping other guys move stuff. Get these and you won't be sorry.

Decent straps. Hooks are large enough to fit over different types of tie down anchors, and they are strong. The only negative is when they are locked in the open or release position, they tend to get stuck, meaning the entire strap is useless until you can get it un-stuck - which is not an easy task. All in all a decent strap but be prepared to throw out a few curse words when one gets stuck and you need it to work...

They are great while they work, however, after about a 1 1/2 years, they ratchet parts wear out and won't hold tight any longer. Purchased these to replace my old red SnapOn straps that appeared to be an identical replacement. However these are a much thinner material and two rubbed completely through in the first 300 miles, even when against cardboard.
Ratchets seemed good but was very disappointed in the material for the straps and ratchet hooks. Similar to thin tent canvas, and less then half as thick as most straps.

The pictures do not do justice to the surprisingly high quality and sturdy design of this well-designed, tie-down set. They are a bit larger than my previous set of tie-downs, but these should not need replacement due to the quality concerns of the other brand I used only a couple of times. I do highly recommend these tie-downs because of their j-hook design, their large, handy size & apparently very high build quality, plus, they are lockable. I have no idea if there is actually a better set available, but at this point I have no need to search for one- thanks for a great product.
