TapeCase TC790 Dry Vinyl Tape is a durably manufactured adhesive useful in chrome plating and anodizing tasks. The masking tape works at maximum 185 deg. F (85 deg. C) temperature and thus is useful in automotive industry in order to wrap wire harnesses without any hassle. Being free from lead and recyclable, the conformable tape will not contaminate solutions. To maintain the strength of the bond, wrap this tape spirally. This stabilized, recyclable tape has been manufactured using plasticized polyvinyl chloride film.

    This was recommended to me by someone in the board gaming community as a way to store sets of loose playing cards. It's perfect for this application. It holds them securely with zero residue and no damage to anything.Even if that use case doesn't make any sense to you (hey, not everyone collects board games, I suppose), then I'd still recommend picking up a roll just to have it on hand. There will be sometime when you want to bundle something together but worry about the tape sticking to the items being bundled. This will do the trick. And you get a ton of it for a few bucks.

    This is an easy way to consolidate wire harnesses together for a factory look, if you are running on the interior of the vehicle or preparing to stuff into split loom tubing. It beats electrical tape for serviceability and flexibility of the bundle after wrapping. It does not make a super tough skin, you may want to over wrap with electrical tape or split loom for applications that will see heavy abrasion. But it does make the harness much smaller in diameter and makes servicing wires easy without making a sticky mess. If used correctly it preforms very well, its not a complete replacement for electrical tape.

    I ordered a roll to use to safely package up board games for storage. You can wrap anything you can stack: cards, cardboard tokens, folded game boards, etc. You can even wrap the whole box to keep it closed during transit.

    I ended up reaching for the roll much more often than I expected— basically any time I need to hold things together temporarily.

    For temporary cable management, it's better than zip ties and a decent substitute for Velcro strips. Cut a few strips, wrap. When you're done, it's easy to unwrap.

    If you have something metal that's just a little too slippery (in my case, a manual burr grinder), it's a decent substitute for grip tape.

    Lose batteries in the drawer that you don't want to get mixed up? Bundle them together with some vinyl tape.

    I think the key is super tight wrapping; far tighter than you would use on a human being.

    This roll of tape is supposed to be to cling to itself without adhesive. I’m used a lot of vinyl tape for a variety of uses and this roll is by far the worst. I basically had to end up tying it together to get it to stay in place. Very disappointing product.

    I’m using this bondage tape to stretch my ears. To do this you wrap tape around your plug (large earring), progressively adding more, to get the hole bigger. Tape that has no sticky adhesive is used for this for many sanitary and safety reasons. I’ve only put two layers of this tape on my plugs so far but it seems great! It easily detaches from itself when I peel it but it stays put on my plug when I put it in my ear hole - best of both worlds. Very easy to use. Doesn’t crinkle easily by any means. Easy to cut into small strips. Easy to stick on to itself repeatedly. If youre looking to use this to stretch your ears, do it! Not too thin or too thick for that purpose.
    The only slight issue I had with it is that the packaging and tape itself was dusty when it came to me. I cleaned it before use, but I don’t think it’s as sanitary as it should of been. And for that, I took off a star.

    Not sure about a couple of the poor reviews. Rate the product based on what this is - it's not electrical tape. It does its job nicely, such as in automotive wiring harnesses where you don't want or need adhesive around the full length of your harness. Call it a wrap instead of a tape if it helps. You only use a small amount of an adhesive tape to hold each end of the wrap in place. It is thin which makes it easy to work with, but if you want it thicker for more wire protection just overlap more as you wrap. This is the right way to do a wire harness.
