Very Thin Metal and Poor Construction
Replaced OEM tailgate to get rid of 3 outward dents from the tail gate latch assembly. This is a common problem for Toyota tailgate..First time using new tailgate (and after having it painted etc.), I loaded something in the bed of the truck and the tailgate creased on the edge and the tailgate is bent outward. Likewise, the outward dents from the tailgate latch assembly are now present. Very disappointing.I recommend not buying this. I certainly would not buy another ever again.

Ordered this tailgate shell figuring I might be sending it back because of it being too weak, damaged, etc. Well, it has no dings or scratches on it and is the same size as my factory one. I'm excited to paint it and move the hardware from my original tailgate and see how it looks! I will update after it's installed. Great purchase to replace my dinged up tailgate.
Other tailgates will cost $300+. You can't beat this price. Paint it yourself and save $$$
