There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
My cord is about a foot a and a half to the inlet and about 4 feet to the outlet. Ive never had an issue even with all the brown muck, TP and etc. Considering how cheap it was i never considered doing any maintenance to it and it hasn't quit.
Few notes to some of the people who have reviewed this thing..
DO NOT RUN IT IN REVERSE. THIS IS A ONE WAY PUMP. You will tear it if you reverse its direction!
Also you see those two slots? Yes this thing is supposed to be tied down. Don't grab the pump and expect to hold on when your drill is turning at 450 ft lbs of torque! . If you don't have this thing secured down you grab it by the hose. The leverage will allow it to start turning with out breaking finger. When it starts turning you don't really even need to hold on. also Its supposed to be hard to turn. That just means that you are creating a airtight seal. Last it has the oval shape by design. With out it it wont be able to compress / pump
Clearly this thing isn't high quality product. But it does appear to be of higher quality that most others at this price range.
They could have done alot to make it alot better. Metalic body, Better seals (More O rings?), a hex shank. I would considering buying it.
I really thought I could get this to work. Before even using it, I took it apart and greased it using silicone grease as the stuff in there was dried out and clumped together. Worked great for about 2 minutes before it decided to make a nasty sound and just give up. Took it apart and tried a couple more times with no luck.
These plastic drill pumps just are not it. None of them - doesnt matter the brand. I bought a bulb pump instead and that works 100x better (and for longer).
That being said, I purchased this pump because I had previously purchased one like this but with hose bibb threads, and it works gangbusters. That's why I bought this one when I needed a pump to work with straight tubing. And I purchased another with the hose bibb threads AFTER I found these units to be defective. I think I just got lemons this time.
Rather than go through the hassle of a return, I hope to dismantle the pumps and figure out what's keeping them from working. I'm out what, $15?
I deducted 1 star because the seal around the shaft started to leak early on leading to around 1 drop every 30 seconds. That's not a problem for me since I use it outdoors, but it may be a concern for someone else.
