Installed and working. 2005 Toyota Tacoma. Like most other reviews have said, was stuck on the high setting.
Install was not difficult. Resetting the back screw was the hardest part. 5.5 MM socket with a 1/4" socket wrench. I found it easier to set the front screw first, then the back. The front screw first holds it in place. The back screw is tight, poor spot to get to, but it can be done.
I looked for this part at the other Auto supply chains. 2 said it would ship at the end of September. It's Sunday, 9-18, I ordered it on Friday. I love Amazon!!!!
Here is a picture of the old part. I forgot to take a pic of the new part, but other reviews show the new part

Fan Blower switch finally fixed for less than $50.

Just what I needed to fix my fan blower problem. Actually, this was only half of the problem. I had to go to the Toyota dealer to buy the other half which is the pigtail (plug) which overheats & the connectors burn. Once I replaced both pieces, the fan works like a charm.
Update: July 2018. The fan speed on the 3rd setting, one before highest setting has now stopped working most of the time. I am assuming the connector has burned again and not making contact. I don't know if this is a fault in this part or something else in the wiring. Seems to happen on most Toyota Tacoma's from this era. So it's not a permanent fix.

Fixes the nagging intermittent blower motor. This was easy to replace (2 screws) and like I said, it makes it so the blower motor works on every setting. If your truck does this, you need to invest in this blower motor resistor. Also, when you look at your old one, you may see it's burnt from the intermittent contact.

Highly recommend changing plug at the same time, I'll add pics to that review.

This replacement part does NOT fix the issue of the blower motor not working on the lower settings (2011 Tacoma). I installed it and the first time I turned the fan on, it only worked on the highest setting. Replaced it with another brand and the fan works fine on all settings.

My 07 Tacoma started having issues with the blower motor speeds. I also noticed a slight burning smell. The culprit was this resistor and the wiring that went to it. You can see the old design vs the new design and how rusty the old one was. It's a known issue on these trucks. Only 2 screws needed to remove the resistor, but its under the glove compartment tucked away so hard to get out if your a big dude. I ordered the wiring harness separate as people had mentioned that if you do not replace it, this resistor will fail quickly. Glad i did as the wiring harness had a burn mark on the faulty wire. Easy job and very satisfying to have the blower working properly on all speeds again

Before you order this resistor for your 2013 Tacoma. Take a look at the contacts on the face of the plug. This resistor is good quality and will work, but a common problem in many Tacoma s the is actually the connector. The terminal lugs are smaller that it should be and can't handle the amperage going through it. So it overheats and will burn creating a bad connection. Particularly on the blue white wire usually. If you can disassemble the connector and clean the contacts that may fix you problem without replacing the resistor. I didn't and now I have a spare resistor I most likely can't return and may never use.

I installed this resistor, as well as, a genuine Toyota Instrument Panel Wire ( 82141-04M40) on a 2008 Toyota Tacoma truck. The primary problem was the fan blower motor was only working on High speed. I viewed several videos on YouTube to determine if this was a repair job that I could do. Most do-it-yourself people also recommend the following: replace both the instrument panel wires and the resistor to avoid replacing one or the other of these parts later and apply dielectric grease to all metal contacts. It doesn’t take a lot of grease and I used a q-tip to apply it. If you have a similar problem with the fan blower motor running only on High speed do a search for your year and vehicle model on YouTube. My search was “Fan blower motor running only on High speed for 2008 Toyota Tacoma.” Several do-it-yourself videos were available to help me get the job done. Estimated time to remove both parts and install new parts is 1 hour.

I purchased this part previously to replace the faulty factory original part. However, I just received my second order of this part after it went out less than a year after replacing it. I believe this resistor broken a second time because my blower motor appears to be going out. It is making squeaking noises (or chipping noises) and getting worse. I imagine the motor started drawing too many amps and blew out the resistor in the process. When the resistor when out the first time there was no problems with the motor. I just flipped 150,000 miles and the blower motor has been on most of those miles. That isn't bad considering other Tacoma owners' blower motors went out with less age and miles. It is frustrating to have to replace this part twice, but at least it is a DIY repair so saving money helps me to feel better. Considering the price, it was cheaper than waiting to process a warranty claim.
