It always mystifies me how folks who pay only $5.75 or so whine because the magnifying specs are not the best. The batteries alone are worth the low unit cost alone. The price alone is great and people shouldn't complain. For the price, they're made great. Hong Kong stuff is super and even at the low sale price, those guys still make a profit.

This looked like a good idea, but they really are not very useful to me as they cannot be adjusted for vision of more than about 1/2" away, making them pretty useless for any productive work. They are cheaply made and although they look versatile, they are not.

It's made pretty cheaply, and easily falls off of your face, but the magnification is actually quite impressive. If you're going to be working up really close to whatever you're doing, this is what to use.

The fact that it's made cheaply doesn't bother me, it's just that it feels sometimes like a child's toy. It is metal, however the actual individual 'glasses' or 'lenses' or whatever you'd like to call those big things hooked to the main frame, their cases are plastic. The lights are a bit flimsy as well, so I haven't relied on them. For a very cheap price, these are good. I've had them banging around in my backpack and toolbox, and they haven't even gotten a scratch.

I bought this thing thinking it could help enhance my poor vision. The fact that it was supposedly 20x was very appealing to me. However, I now must say I agree with other reviewers that it's really no better than a costume prop and not worth the money.

The glasses don't work very well and are very blurred, and while I knew the field of vision with them would be narrow, it's even more narrow and limited than I first thought it would be.

In addition, the magnification doesn't look like 20x at all. You really do get what you pay for, so unless you're looking for a costume accessory, I'd say don't bother wasting your money.

As the other reviewers have said, this is a great item for a costume prop, but nothing more. It is VERY flimsy, heavy on the nosebridge (hard to adjust this part, too), and NOT stereoscopic. The focal distance is so close (about 1 cm from the lens) that it is physically impossible to use these with both eyes. You would have to bend the frame to adjust the angle of the lenses in order to do so, and then you would be looking cross-eyed to accomplish this. This is not speculation, I actually bent the frame to see if I could use it this way. I could not. I suppose I could use it with one eye only, but again, the focal distance is so close it's uncomfortable. You can get a similar magnification with a magnifying glass. The only reason I'm not overly upset about this purchase is that it was less than a five dollar bill. I will probably never use this.
