Quiet Power
The iQ2000 uses a different type of alternator than standard generators. A digital inverter module converts the raw power produced from DC to AC power. Engine speed varies depending on electrical demand — which significantly reduces noise levels.
Stay Informed
Generator status indicators alert you to low fuel, low oil, overload or overheating. Simply brilliant.
Know your Limits
The exclusive Powerbar monitors and instantly displays the wattage you’re producing at the moment. So you’ll always know how much capacity you have.

Product Description
Generac’s iQ2000 is the ideal generator for powering your desired loads in a variety of outdoor environments, including parks, campsites, backyard parties and tailgating events. Third-party testing has proven the iQ2000 to be quieter than its competitors*, which allows users to provide power to their desired loads without disturbing those around them. The generator can be connected to a variety of sensitive appliances, including electronics, as its digital inverter module converts the raw power it produces from DC to AC power. Best of all, the iQ2000 is easy to use and boasts innovative features not found on any other inverter generator in the industry. While the unit’s Start, Run and Stop functions can be manually set via the iQ2000’s PowerDial, users can toggle between Turbo, Standard and Economy modes through the use of a simple switch to reduce noise and fuel consumption rates based on load requirements. When items requiring higher power outputs are connected to the generator, Turbo mode should be utilized. For loads requiring minimal power output, switching to Economy mode is recommended; Standard mode should be utilized for all intermediate load requirements. To accommodate larger load requirements, the iQ2000 is also parallel capable. Users can nearly double the power output available to their desired loads by connecting two generators through the use of an optional Parallel Kit. In regards to product feedback, the unit’s dashboard bestows LED displays that can be utilized to continuously monitor the generator’s operating status. While the unit is running, users can verify how much time they have left before refueling is required by referring to the run-time remaining display, and the PowerBar constantly specifies wattage produced by the generator at all times. Other innovative status indicators include low fuel, low oil, overload and overheating alerts. *Based on independent lab tests using ISO 9614 to measure sound power levels vs. Honda EU2000i. Fuel Type: Gasoline

When I purchase these I compared the iq2000 to the Honda comparable sized 2000w model. I went with these because they were just as quiet and about two-thirds of the price of a Honda.
Now, let's see if I jinxed myself by writing this before the power comes back on. LOL.😉
UPDATE (The very next day): Text-book jinxing! This morning after a few hours of down time for oil-check, the pull string broke during the scheduled re-start. 🙁. Does this change my recommendation of the generator? Not at all. Pull-strings break, it happens. Luckily, my son got power back last evening and I went and picked up the sister unit. It's now providing power in place of the stringless one.
UPDATE 8-29-20 We were without power for 8 days. The following week, I decided to tackle the broken pull-cord. I was disappointed that there is NOT ONE video on YouTube showing the steps to disassemble the iQ2000 enough to get at the starter mechanism. Luckily it wasn't too difficult to figure out. I repaired the pull-cord. Only about 4 inches had broken off so I was able to use the remaining cord, which was still wound correctly in the mechanism. Re-assembled, changed oil and verified it runs just fine.
If you are considering purchasing a generator, I HIGHLY recommend this generator!
The generator has been tested on one of my refrigerators and it easily powered the refrigerator, and can probably add a couple other smaller loads at the same time. It has four outlets and a very nice gauge that estimates how long the generator will run with the loads attached to it. That gauges are the big selling point for me vs the Honda. It would be nice to have a manual gauge on the cap of the fuel tank to show gas level, but the electronic gauge makes up for it when the generator is running.
The generator is delivered with no oil in it, so be absolutely sure to follow the initial setup instructions before starting it. Remember to only put enough gas in the tank to run the generator as long as you need it. Ideally, you will put it away after it has run out of fuel. If you are leaving fuel in the gas tank for the future, be sure to add some additive like Sta-bil to delay the breakdown of the gasoline over time. Once gasoline deteriorates into a gelatin, it clogs up everything and requires a deep cleaning including the carburator.
