NOTE: Before purchasing, please make sure both HDMI and RCA devices have signal coding and decoding function; for more details, please refer to the user manual of your devices.

Our HDMI to RCA cable is designed to connect and transfer (NOT CONVERT) signals from HDMI port to RCA port. This cable functions as a signal transmitter, but NOT a signal converter. As HDMI carries digital signals while RCA carries analog signals. In order for these two formats of signal to communicate with each other, both input and output devices needs to support the signal conversion function (code and decode), please kindly check with your user manual. If both input/output devices do not support signal conversion, a signal conversion box is required (sold separately, you can search keywords "HDMI to AV Converter Adapter" on Amazon or buy from local market).

NOTE: Even though HDMI cables support Hot Plug Detection, improper usage might result in resetting / restarting both devices, or even may cause damage to the devices. Therefore, we do not suggest Hot Plug action for any HDMI cables. Please make sure both input and output devices are off when plugging or unplugging HDMI cables.

Note: If your device itself doesn't have signal conversion function, we would suggest to buy a converter. Please search HDMI to RCA Converter which can convert digital HDMI signal to analog RCA signal.

I am very disappointed with this product. I missed my return window, I have purchased and returned HDMI splitters, Rca AV multi splitters, and nothing works with with this cord. I have tried other HD TV's in my home and it still does not work in the other HDMI ports. I have pluged other items in each HDMI port and they work. But, this item will not. Bad purchase and stuck with it. Unhappy customer. :(

This product may work for some products, but definitely did not work for what I wanted it to do. The intention was to separate a hdmi signal into analog audio and analog video that could be processed separately. Unfortunately, it never did work. I could have an hdmi source working correctly, but if I switched out to this converter, the source would go to standby. A simple direct connection from source through converter to display would not work, with the source never coming out of standby. It appears that HDMI interface requires handshaking (two way communication) between the source and display, and this converter only converts the signals going from the source to the display, and nothing the other direction. It may be that there are some simple devices that do not require this handshaking, but none of the sources that I tried (about 5) worked at all.

As some might know the Broadcast industry has now added copy protection to HDMI DTV boxes and Cable Boxes which works with your TV. Their must be a HDCP hand shake at each end in order for the signal to pass thru.

The cable did not work when plugging into a HDMI source to my RCA Jacks on my TV. My DVD player has RCA to RCA and worked fine with same TV.
I tried another cable from same vendor. It too did not work.
I am thinking the HDMI device is digital and this cable is passing the digital signal instead of converting to Analog to work on TV.
The vendor contacted me and apologized about my first return. Then he apologized about second return when I mentioned same issue. I asked if another cable was recommended, so I ordered it. Not sure what application this cable would work. Different cable is on the way.

For those of you trying to use old technology with new, this is your answer. I see no point in replacing perfectly functional electronics simply because the companies decide that they will change the interface. Especially since some of the older technology tends to last longer. This product did exactly what I hoped and for significantly less than buying a new portable DVD player.

I bought this a couple months back thinking I could use to connect old RCA devices to modern TVs. Fast forward to 1/2/21 — I went to use it for the first time today the thing just flat out doesn’t work. I’ve tried it on multiple devices with zero luck.

To clarify: I wasn’t looking to take a HDMI output and downgrade to RCA devices. I was looking to connect old camcorders and a NES/SNES to modern TV connections.

I realized this too late to return and get my money back. If you’re reading this review do yourself a favor and try a different option.
