It is easy to install and it looks really nice on the truck. The material is strong! The car had to carry 2 panel of glass because the trunk doesn't fit and the other solution was on top of the cover. The edges did start bending but the entire cover didn't. It hold up really nice and last all the way. I would definitely recommend this product for friends

Love it!!! There were a few moments where I looked at the instructions a few times and a question piped up but after I thought about it and put the parts up to the truck it all made sense. Unfortunately mine did not come with the drain tubes, but I called BAK and their customer service was amazing. Quickly picked my call and verified my covers serial number. They shipped me new drain hoses free of charge. I would recommend their covers. I haven’t had big rain storm or water fall to fully test the water proofing but from what I have seen there were are no issues.

Started with apprehension: will it fit right, will it look ok, will it last? I’ve had for less than a year now. First, it has a superb fit. Second, it does look really nice. Third, TBD, as I live in a desert and anything with plastic and rubber lasts for about 2-4 years before the stuff starts to crumble.
However, I will write that it was fairly simple to install. It took a little time to understand the instructions. The basic set of instructions were for a different bed configuration: without the rails for the adjustable tie-downs. There was a stand-alone sheet of paper with the differences in the instructions. What I did figure out is that there are a couple YouTube videos that are great at detailing the installation process, specifically for this truck. Oh, and don’t forget that you have to buy a #30 (I think that’s the size, but reference the videos, my memory is a bit questionable) torx drive to remove parts before the install. The most difficult part was sliding the aluminum brackets onto the OEM rail. They were difficult to slide on, and difficult to adjust in small increments when trying to align them with the OEM bolt holes. This is a good thing since that means the tolerances were tight and they won’t suffer from overly loose fitting syndrome. The only thing I didn’t do was the drain tubes. It required drilling out the OEM drains in the bed to a larger diameter, and I didn’t want to do that. Again, I live in a desert so rain isn’t a big concern.
As for the product itself, I love it so far. Opens and closes easily. The props to hold it upright are easy to operate and work well. I have driven up to 60 mph with it propped up and it seems to have handled it without issues. Keep in mind that when it’s propped up, it sticks out at the top corners of the roof about a square foot directly into the wind like an air brake. That’s a square foot of wind force trying to push it down. It locks back into place covering the bed easily. The overall product seems well designed and solidly manufactured.
It was recommended to me, and I would definitely recommend to another.

Defective product, panels leak rainwater like a sprinkler system. Rubber hinge seals did not leak, bed rail seals did not leak. Where the panels fit into the metal hinges leaked rainwater in multiple places along those joints, sort of like a sprinkler system.
I understood that the BAKFlip cover was not waterproof, and I expected some small amount of wetness in the bed. So, I placed a 160-quart plastic storage box in the bed (which cleared the underside of the BAKFlip cover by 1.25 inches) to store my tools to keep them dry as possible. After a heavy rain, I checked on the condition of the truck bed and found that all my tools were soaking wet and that there was 1/8” of water in the bottom of the 160-quart plastic container.
I am very disappointed, I liked the look and the function of the BAKFlip F1, I thought I had a winner, a name brand product that looked great on my truck. This F1 will not keep your cargo dry.

I have a bakflip for my 2002 tundra and liked it enough to buy one for my new Tacoma. Improvement's to the new one makes it even better than my old one. It is lighter, has a tie down anchors when partly open and allows for the tailgate to close after the cover is already down. I love it! It was delivered in very good packaging.
