These brackets are solid and beautifully made. So much nicer than the black sheetmetal type, which I initially bought before I found these. The sheetmetal type don't really conform well to the forks and the way they clamp onto the forks leave a lot to be desired. These were supposed to fit my 41mm fork tubes, but were in fact a very tight fit. It took a lot of pressure to squeeze them close enough together to install the screws. So I decided to modify the way they install and, instead of bolting the flat section to the outside of the clamps, I installed the flat portion between the two clamp halves, which took some of the stress off the rear screws. As another reviewer had mentioned, be very cautious not to cross-thread the screws, or over torque them, as this aluminum is fairly soft. The design could be improved by installing stainless helicons into the clamp holes rather than rely on the soft aluminum threads only. Another tip for would be installers: be careful not to install the clamps too high on the fork tubes to where the back ends of the clamps contact the frame at full-lock turning of the wheel. I installed them so the top clamp was 3 inches below the top of the triple tree, which ensured I could turn the wheel to full lock both directions without frame contact.The only other minor criticism is the brackets could be slightly longer, because with the headlight I used, the back of the headlight was making contact with a hard point on the frame when I tried to turn the wheel to either side. The hard point was the mounting point for the support bracket that supported the original cowl for the headlights and instrument panel. I ended up cutting the hard point off the frame with a Saws-all, which was a tricky operation, but turned out great.
