Absolute Unit of a Phone Case

This is the 3rd or 4th time I have purchased this style case for various iPhones I’ve had. It is an absolute unit of a case. I’ve (nearly) never had damage to any phone I’ve owned thanks to this case.
1st case (iPhone 5c) the tempered glass broke from me “spiking” my phone into the floor. Phone was fine.
2nd case (iPhone 5c) outlived the actual phone. I tossed the phone down the road 50-60 feet 1/2 a dozen times and an internal connector broke inside the phone. When the phone was disassembled it was found that there was some corrosion and rust present, weakening the internals. Case was fine, exterior of phone was fine.
3rd Case (iPhone XR) had the case for 13 months and again, showing it off I tossed it onto a tile floor and the speaker on / off switch attached to the case broke. The phone still looks and acts brand new though.
Just ordered number 4. If you are looking for a rock solid case that will exceed day to day use of your expensive electronics, look no further. I have no doubt that I will order these cases and suggest them to others for many years to come.

It is a heavy case, but it is well worth it. All of the abuse I have put my mobile electronics through should prove that.

Heavy Duty Phone Case

I bought this phone case back in 2016 for my iPhone 6. This is a strong and sturdy phone case! There is no need to purchase a screen protector because the case already has a glass screen.

Not too long ago the glass screen on the case itself broke. I removed it and applied a tempered glass onto my phone itself. Case still provides great protection on the edges.

They accepted this to be refunded and returned to them. I received the other one two days ago, last night just sitting on the couch by him, a small container (not heavy or anything) hit his phone and the glass cracked!!! Asking for a refund again.

Must modify for use with iPhone XR speakerphone

Product is extremely durable, metal case and gorilla glass, fastened together with six hex-head screws. Needing a wrench to disassemble and clean is not the most convenient, but I generally carry the tools needed as part of my daily job. iPhone XR speakerphone WILL NOT operate properly with the full waterproof seal as shipped. I had to remove a two-inch section of the foam at the bottom (charging end) of the phone. iPhone XR speakerphone uses the bottom stereo speakers one for audio-out and the other as microphone (in speakerphone mode) so waterproof seal as shipped effectively pumps the audio back through the mic, people on the other end of your call will get nasty feedback. If you need waterproof features this case is a-ok, but the speakerphone WILL BE USELESS. This is not a flaw in the design of the case, rather an inexcusable design flaw from Apple. One other note, there is an actuator that operates the ringer on/off function - this has a tendency to put the ringer to silent when the phone is placed face down on any hard surface - in my instance, I removed the actuator. Case is tough as nails, if that's what you seek.
All in all I love the protection offered by the case. It is HEAVY, but this is not an issue for me.

With that said, this is case is the one you want if you're rough on your phone. It does the make the phone significantly bulkier, but I'd much rather deal with that than have a broken phone. All of the buttons are easily accessible and the cover for the charging port is nice. Also love the built in screen protector.

Only other down side is that I got mine in black and dropped my phone on the concrete. my phone is fine but the black paint is chipped off a bit exposing the metal underneath. Maybe go with the silver one to avoid this. All in all I'm happy with the case. I've had no issues with reception using this case.

The case comes with the hex tool and 3 extra screw to screw in the hex bolts. I would recommend using a little bit of blue loc-tite to prevent the screws from coming loose. DO NOT USE RED LOC-TITE! YOU WILL NEVER GET YOUR PHONE OUT. Blue loc-tite is medium strength and made to prevent bolts and screws from vibrating loose.

Glass issues

Pros:
-The back plate as well as the front facing plate are made of some type of metal which worked very well in protecting against drops and daily wear. (You'll begin to see scraped and marring)
-The middle honey comb shaped truss performed well in dissipating shock when dropped etc.

Cons:
-It must be screwed on, which isn't all too bad unless you get water inside of your case.
-The front glass plate is cheap glass. I was out in the cold and a beer bottle landed on the protector causing the plate to shatter (only a few inches above it, a minor fall really). the cold may have played a part. My other protector on the phone under the built in glass plate took no damage.
-Can be hard to type on when you first attach it to your phone.
-Plastic piece to select silent and ringer breaks easily.

Overall, for the price paid compared to a Lunatik Taktik case, this is a good option as I have used these cases on all my phones prior to my XR. In comparison to the Lunatik series, the Lunatiks have a more protective and better performing glass plate. This case performs just as well minus the glass.
