Product Description

Alpine KTA-450 4-Channel Power Pack Amplifier with PowerStack Capability The next generation of Power Pack is here! The compact KTA-450 Power Pack Amplifier utilizes Alpine’s exclusive DPP technology for a big power boost in a small space. The KTA-450 measures just 7” W x 3.5” H x 1.25” D. For vehicles that do not have the space for a traditional amplifier, the KTA-450’s small size allows it to be tucked away in hidden areas such as in the glove box or behind the radio. It could even be used in a motorcycle’s saddlebag or on a boat. No Extra Wires! Thanks to the efficient power needs of the DPP technology, the KTA-450 does not require a new power supply wire at the battery, so installation is fast using the supplied radio power wires. In addition, the KTA-450 uses a 22-pin power harness with a recessed design on one side, so the cables can be tucked-in for a cleaner, less-bulky installation. Features: Compact size, measuring just 7” W x 3.5” H x 1.25” D Class D amplifier circuit Dynamic Peak Power (DPP) technology doubles the power during dynamic musical passages Power Stacking bracket included for mounting to the iLX-W650 7” Mech-less AV Receiver (sold separately) Specifications: Power output 4-Ohm @ 14.4 Volts: 50 W RMS X 4 Power output 2-Ohm @ 14.4 Volts: 45 W RMS X 4 Dynamic Peak Power output 4-Ohm @ 14.4 Volts: 100 W RMS X 4 Dynamic Peak Power output 2-Ohm @ 14.4 Volts: 100 W RMS X 4 THD 10 W into 4 Ohms: Less Than 0.2% THD 10 W into 2 Ohms: Less Than 0.1% THD Rated Power 4 Ohms: Less Than 0.1% THD Rated Power 2 Ohms: Less Than 0.1% S/N Ratio: 1 W into 4 Ohms: >85dB Frequency Response:+0/-3 dB 15Hz - 50kHz Input Sensitivity: RCA (0.152 - 2.80V), Speaker (0.33 - 6.05V) Crossover: Variable HPF/LPF, (OFF/60/80/120Hz) Weight: 1.3lb In the box: KTA-450 4-Channel Amplifier Input/Output/Power Wire Harness Universal Bracket Set Cable Tie Self Tapping Screw W650 Mounting Brackets

Maybe I'm stupid or maybe someone at Alpine engineering gave the product design the go-ahead without watching a human interact with it. Either way if you've bought this and it sounds great but has zero bass or you're looking to buy it, keep an eye out for the switches on this thing. There are six switches and they are numbered 1 to 6 and there's a lot of reference in the instructions to flipping them "up" or "down". Now, you might be tempted to turn this bad boy such that the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 are upright and read left-to-right and think that flipping a switch upwards puts it in the "up" position. Wrong. That's down, you idiot. What were you thinking? Flip it back over so all the numbers are upside down and flip a switch upwards. There ya go. "Up".Seems like maybe not that hard to put an "A" and "B" on the side of the switches and have the instructions reference those but this thinking is why I'm supposedly "not a good fit" at Alpine Inc.Things might look good when you get it from the manufacturer but all switches (as i received them) were "up". So the defaults are:-You're telling it you're feeding it speaker-level inputs, not RCAs-4-channel mode-Front, 120hz high-pass filter-Rear, 120hz high-pass filtertbh sounded pretty crisp with precisely every setting incorrect. 5 stars.
