I tow a 26 foot goosneck horse trailer with my tools in them. It helps to have a camera in the truck bed to line up the gooseball and I wanted one on the back of the trailer to see what was behind me, I do not have the need to record my images. I did my research and settled on the AUTO-VOX 5" monitor after seeing consistent positive reviews. The monitor was installed with no issues, I hid the cables in the headliner and behind the dash. The camera was mounted on my crossbed toolbox with the power connected to my backup lights. The setup worked perfectly, after pairing the camera the picture comes on right when I go into reverse and gives me a good image of the gooseball and hitch line up. With the trailer being 26 foot and a metal roof I connected the camera but could never get the transmitter to pair with the monitor. I figure it's because of the distance and the interfering metal. I contacted customer support and reached Vicki. She replied quickly that they offer extension cables for the unit which are 9.8 feet long, I told her I would need two of them to get the transmitter close enough to the front to get a signal. She immediately sent them out for no charge and I received them a short couple of days later. I just got them installed last weekend on the camera, once powered up I was able to immediately pair the camera with the video head and all was good. I was very impressed with Vicki's knowledge of the product and her willingness to help, I was also impressed with the ease of installation and the quality and options of the product. Vicki was sure to follow up with me to see if I had received the cables and had any other questions or need and if they had solved my issue. CH-1 is the bed camera and it lights up only in reverse, CH-2 is the rear trailer camera and it shows on the monitor when I hook up to the trailer. I don't have to do any switching, it's all automatic. In a world where their are lots of different product options out there, quality customer support is at the top of my list as a differentiator between products. It's even better when you have a quality product and quality support, AUTO-VOX has both and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase any of their products.

Easy to install, well written instructions, and good quality for a reasonable price
I bought this product to add a backup camera to a 2012 Ford F150. Before making this purchase I researched other backup camera options and desired to have a camera as close to the factory equipped option without the factory equipped price. Let me say this camera does not fully meet that expectation, due to it's design and other limitations. Some of the limitations I ran into for this specific vehicle was related to if I have chosen a camera system that replaced the factory review mirror, I would have lost the auto-dimming feature of the side mirror and rear view mirror. As dumb as it sounds, the Auto-Dimming feature of the factory mirrors is something that I was not willing to give up, to add a backup camera that resembled the factory option. After discovering that I would loose other features of my vehicle, I decided to begin researching other options that would give me what I wanted in a backup camera, but allow me to maintain the original equipment design of my truck.I chose the Auto-Vox W7 Wireless Backup Camera because of several reasons:Price-at $125.00 it is easy on the wallet to add the safety benefits of a backup camera to any vehicle.Reviews-I read several reviews and even watched a few installation videos on Youtube that helped me to decide that the Auto-Vox W7 would work well for my needs.Portability-The Auto-Vox W7 does wire to parts of the vehicle and is intended to be permanently installed(the reverse trigger wire), but could be uninstalled and moved to a different vehicle if a need ever existed to continue to use.Overall the installation instructions were very well written and easy to follow. Anyone with basic mechanical/electrical ability would be able to make sense out of the instructions and be able to install this item on their vehicle application. I estimate that it took me roughly an hour and a half to install the system and make it fully operational.I have used the system for a couple of weeks now after installation before deciding to write this review. One benefit of this system is that the user can configure the guidelines to best fit the vehicle application to make this product most useful.In many of the reviews that I read, some complained about the suction cup mounting bracket. I have no complaints with the bracket at this time. I believe some of the complaints could be simply not understanding how to apply the suction cup..which is press it down tight first and then pull the lever to lock the bracket in place. The bracket does allow for mounting the screen in any position needed for your application.As with most backup cameras, factory installed or after market add-ons, the cameras are subject to poor quality on a day that it rains. I do not fault the camera itself as much as this just happens to all on a rainy day, but that is what the mirrors are for.I have used this camera system to help guide backing me into parking spots in tight parking garages to backing out of driveways into the street, and I feel comfortable in saying that for the price I am very happy with the quality of this item.
