I mounted this on the back of my zero turn mower to make it easier to power attachments, like a sprayer. Works great and really looks professional. Added a 15 amp fused harness and a water proof toggle switch, and my days of lifting the seat and attaching clamps to the battery are over! I was having a slight issue with plugs not going all the way in, and popping out while driving. This was solved with a little Vaseline on the connector. Was just tight. Since it was a 2 pack, maybe I'll do the same thing to my UTV.... Highly recommended.

I bought this to 'hack' an APC UPS. I have a 1500 va APC/UPS. It is a device that plugs into the wall, but when there is a power bump/outage, with internal batteries, it still supplies 120 volts to keep my computer or other equipment running. I wanted a way to have power during a power outage to recharge my cell phone. Unfortunately, when you use a UPS during a power outage, you are turning on an inverter, transformer, and it can drain the batteries in a couple of hours. What I did, was to mount this 12 volt socket onto the rear of my UPS, and connected it to 1 of the internal batteries. My UPS has 2 batteries, (12v18ah) it is a 24 volt to 120 volt system. By connecting it to 1 of the batteries, I do NOT have to turn on the UPS. Instead, I bought a cigarette lighter socket from Amazon here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079224XMX?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details I plug this into my 12 volt socket, and then use my USB car charger to recharge my cell phone during a power outage. Quiet, long lasting power. I have no idea how many recharges of my cell phone I can get from this battery, but it is going to be many. You can keep the battery charged by plugging into your home power when power is available. With my hack, my UPS works as it normally would to operate my 120 volt equipment, the built in charger keeps the batteries topped off with a charge. In a power outage, I have a lot of silent 12 volt dc power available to me. I can run 12 volt LED lights or anything that uses 12volts dc through this type of parallel connector, or a cigarette lighter socket. I use my UPS indoors, but this 12 volt receptacle has a snap on rubber cap to keep moisture/dirt out. I hope this gives you ideas!
