I am pretty sure it was supposed to say Low not Tow speed. It has 2 speeds, low and high and it works very well.

I would guess "tow" is supposed to say "two".

It is two speed and does a good job. Has the sound of a fan but I find it like a white noise, there but after a while unnoticeable.

Two speeds with off in the middle of a sliding on/off switch on the side of the fan.

This is a two speed fan high and low. It is blowing on me while I am sitting here.

The best way to find the answer to your question is to do a internet search on different types of batteries. For example ,difference between alkaline and lithium batteries. Most likely rechargeable batteries in the long run will save you money and don't forget to remove from the fan if you are not going to use it for a long time. It has happened to me a few times that i forgot to do it and when i opened the battery chamber the batteries have leaked out and my only choice was to put the device in the garbage.

on high speed I get about 30 hours and on low I get 45 hours I find the better the battery the longer they last

So far, mine has run seven 8 hour days on the six D cell batteries, and its going strong. So far, 56 hours...

It depends on high or low speed, so it may last several hours or longer. also depends on type-brand of battery. It takes a lot of batteries. If you want battery only, and just for one persons usage, I'd go with the smaller fan battery only.

How many hours do I get with the batteries?

The plug in hole is on the right side as you face the fan, just beneath the sliding switch.

The electric adapter is right under the switch that turns the fan on.
