You forgot BSM on the limited

I haven't seen the sport yet so I don't know about the scooooop, but given it's popularity and the fact that it's still offered on the 4Runner I would expect it to return.

If only they had a V8 option. I have a 2014 Sport and I like it. Gave up a 2012 Grand Cherokee that had the Hemi. Lot's of power but is was bumper to bumper junk. Sure do miss the power though.

Toyota isn't going to put a "worse" engine into one of their best selling vehicles and risk those sales, especially with a class on the upswing like the midsize trucks are. What exactly do you consider "better"? I can almost guarantee you the new engine will be better in every measurable way. HP - Yes. Torque - Yes. Gas mileage - Definitely yes. The only thing I, nor anyone for that matter, can guarantee is the reliability, but looking at similar engines and setups it looks like this engine is going to be stronger than the 4.0.

So to answer your question, yes I do really think the 3.5 will be better the the 4.0.

When running perfect with no issues the 3.5L will be better than the 4.0L.

But issues come up and you never know. The 4.0L has been around since 2002 with great success, that's quite a resume.

The 6.0L and 6.4L Ford Powerjoke's were supposed to be better than the 7.3L with more HP, torque and mpg, we all know how that turned out.....

There is a good chance torque will be same or slightly lower while MPG and HP increase. However, the 3rd gen should be lighter and towing should be increased too.
I have heard Toyota spokespeople see MPG, HP and towing will indeed increase but none of them have mentioned torque. If there were a big torque increase they would be bragging about it already.

Does anyone have a good feel for the OVERALL LENGTH of the new 2016 TRD Tacoma? I have a 2010 TRD Off-Road and it barely fits in my garage with maybe 6" to spare. If the new Tacoma is any longer than the current one it would be a game killer for me so maybe I should buy one of the last 2015's as I bet they will have some good deals later this summer to clear them out before the 2016's arrive.
So PLEASE, has anyone seen the 2016 Tacoma at one of the Auto Shows, or heard the dimensions....is it longer, shorter (unlikely) or the same as our current Tacomas? I contacted Toyota directly and of course they wouldn't tell me anything until release date...which is also unknown to Tacoma Central.....ya' right............So just how long nose to tail will this beauty be?????
    Cheers coach :drunk:

Been talked about by Toyota since the Det Auto Show back in Jan. I have not seen any hard specs but the chief engineer said it was longer. IIRC it had to be longer in order to bolster safety / meet current or upcoming standards.

It's overall length is 4" longer. 3" up front, 1" in the rear. Width is the same. Cutting it pretty close!

From the pictures....I like the way it looks but I rather look at the when they start hitting the dealership lots. I just leased my new Tacoma and by the end of the lease....that should give me a good idea about the 3rd Gen Tacoma's.
