I was installing the Relentless curved mounts last night and I’m not sure what the problem is; but 3 of the 4 bolts provided will not thread into my roof. I have a 2014 DCSB. I probably could have forced them in as they had started threading but it was mangling the bolts...

Has anyone else had this issue?? Please help!!?

I actually had similar issue. No matter what I did my damn bolts REFUSED to go in like I felt they should. I only managed to get 1 to thread worth a damn just like your situation. However, and I probably fucked up, but I used a dab of silicon sealant on all bolts to ensure a waterproof seal. Not sure if that is an acceptable thing to do, but I did and it could have led to my issue.

The weird thing was it felt almost like I was cross-threading the bolt but everytime I unbolted it to check the threads they looked fine. To be honest I have no idea what the deal was, I bought everything including hardware from another member so I'm not sure what bolt specs were.

Currently the bar is tight on my roof with no issues.

I took it into Toyota and had the master tech on site look at it, immediately he noticed the threading on the holes were sloppy and needed to be cleaned up.

About 10 minutes later he called me out, and the bolts fit perfectly. He simply thread chased the holes with a m6- 1.0 tap and that was that.

    All covered under warranty :)
