I have a 2009 4x4 Double cab. It has an oval shaped "bump" on the top of the Cab near the back window. Is this a GPS antenna?? I have a whip type antenna on the right side hood/fender. If it is GPS I would like to disconnect it-----do not need to give the NSA any help.
    Thanks, Paratrooper

It's for sat radio, the 09's had it standard even if you don't have the actual tuner. If you want to vp connect sat radio there's a plug in the drivers kick panel to plug into the receiver.

Even if it was a gps antenna why would it matter? What exactly is it doing to you?

As long as the GPS antenna is connected to a power source it emits a signal.

GPS doesn't transmit ANYTHING. It is a receive-only antenna for satellites. Satellites (GPS anyway) do not receive data from the ground, they transmit data to the ground that any GPS receiver can receive and use to compute a very precise long/lat position fix.
