lube gard atf protectant?

    I've read a few things on here about people saying this stuff is pretty good but I can't find many threads of people talking about it. Anyone personally ever use it? Would you recommend it? I'm getting ready to do a transmission flush and I'm thinking about using this stuff. Also does anyone know how much of it I'm gonna need?

    Toytec Coilovers, Total Chaos uca's, Wheelers aal+Bilstein 5160's. 285/70/17's, Method Double Standards. Magnaflow exhaust, GrilleCraft grille, Allpro bumper,diff breather relocate, yellow wire mod, oil catch can, weathertechs.
    Personally, i wouldn't use it. These transmissions need to use Toyota WS trans fluid. I did a trans flush on my old 2005 dclb at 100k. Took it to the dealer and let them do it, although there is a DIY on here on how to do it. There may be a form of Amsoil or some other high end oil you could use instead of WS, but i wouldn't put any additives with it. Just my .02

    Yea I planned on using the valvoline max life atf fluid with the lube gard. Still debating

    It can help a transmission that is slipping and shuddering, but adding it to an otherwise working transmission is just wasting money. Won't hurt to add it, though.

    It has good reports at BITOG so at least it's not complete snake oil.

    Why aren't you going to use Toyota WS ATF?

    Theres really no reason why im not using toyota. I just know the valvoline is compatible and ive had good experiences with valvoline in my differential and everything so id figure id use it in my transmission.

    I suggest calling around to some transmission shops for their advice . Ask them if they use it

    I just did the DIY flush with Valvoline Maxlife and it works just fine. One good reason to use it is $$$. The WS is pretty expensive and from all the information I can find is nothing super special. The only WS application that the Maxlife is not recommended for is on an electric/hybrid. No experience with the Lube guard though.

    thanks. Ive always liked valvoline. Now i feel better about using it in my transmission
