Think he's talking about a Detroit TruTrac locker. I have one in my truck and love it, just watch the corners on the streets if you take them to quick the tires like to squeal

Right. It's a limited slip differential. Beyond my skills to install it. Emailed 6 shops and only got one reply.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
Is this a set of internals for your OE housing, or something already set up, and just the housing needs installation?

If it's a new set of internals (which I suspect it is) try finding a shop that specializes in differentials/axles. You may find them easier if you go to a car show and ask around. Many folks with street/hot rods have upgraded diffs/axles, etc. And if you have some race car activity in your area, asking those guys is a good idea too.

You are correct that it is specialized tools and experience to do properly.

PS. Don't get hung up on email. Some of the best shops will have fellas who don't love technology, particularly to communicate. You're much more likely to get somewhere with a phone call or dropping by.
