Back in January I had the ECGS bushing installed in place of the needle bearing to stop vibration after I installed my lift. Now I have a constant squeak coming from the bushing. I originally thought it was brakes but I've had 3 shops look at it and all 3 have traced the squeak the the bushing. Anyone else had this problem? It so what did you do to fix it? Will they send me a new bushing

did you put oil back in the diff.

was the CV all scarred up from the bearing, thus eating at the bushing you put in?

The gear oil was checked along with the axle when installed. Both were fine. I have contacted ECGS but have not gotten a reply so far.

did you seat the bushing too far into the diff making contact with the diff itself?

I had a shop install it with the instructions printed off of the ECGS website. It was fine up until about 2 weeks ago. That's when it started.

take it back to the shop... something is wrong with the way they did it.

Its possible they messed the seal up putting it back together and the diff oil has leaked out over time leaving you with a dry diff.

I did take it back to the shop. Along with 2 other shops. None of them said anything about the oil being low or empty.

Before you go too far, spray some lube on the seal with an aerosol can & straw - if the dirt lip on the seal is dry, it could be the source of the squeak, rather than the bushing. Is there a little bit of play in the CV stub within the bushing without it being excessive?

I haven't checked the play in it but I will try to spray the seal first. Thanks for the suggestion. Chase at ECGS has contacted me back and is willing to send me a new one free of charge as long as I send him the old one back for testing. I will try to spray it first and hopefully that helps.

This may sound odd....whats the "squeaking" sound like?
Check to make sure the rotor guard is pulled away from the rotor. The thing can intermittently rub and cause squeaking.

It sounds like a brake squeak. It speeds up as the truck speeds up. I had the brakes and all of that looked at

Ok so I went to the car wash today and sprayed the front driver side really good including the brakes. After I left the car wash the squeak was gone until the truck dried and then it was back. So it's not there when it's wet and goes away when you mash the brakes. I've been told it's tbe bushing but I don't see how wetting it or mashing the brakes would make it stop if it's the bushing..

Sounds like the shop messed up something on re-install after ECGS bushing was put in, obviously on the brake/hub side. I would either take it back to that shop or break it down yourself and check everything. Its not too hard of a job.

But it didn't start this until over a month after install. I recently moved and don't have the air compressor hooked up yet and my wheel wrench won't fit inside my wheels so I can't even take my wheel off at the moment.
