Phantom Smoke Headlights

Thinking about buying a set of headlights off eBay that are Phantom Smoke but not sure if they are street legal. The ad doesn't say and was wondering if anyone had any dealings with them and how are they if you did, as far as the brightness if them Thanks!!

You should probably contact the seller (via eBay) and ask. That way you have it on record if he/she says "Yes" and they turn out not to be. I think to be legal they have to have the DOT stamp on the lens, but with that said, I have seen PLENTY of people with smoked headlights (some DIY even) and never had issues with police or inspection. You could always keep your OEM ones and swap them in for inspection time, or to clear a fix-it ticket.

 

Smoked headlights... dangerous... your visibility will suck. I would pass.

 

Here in Texas head and tail lights must be visible from 300 feet.
