So, I recently got an 07 Tacoma and just experienced my first flat in the flippin' thing. When I went to lower the spare, I found that my truck comes with a spare tire lock and I've searched everywhere for the key but it's nowhere...
I called Toyota of Victoria and they want to charge me $100 just to drop the wheel so I can put it in the back of my truck!!!! Fuggers. I'm in Victoria, TX and was wondering if anyone has said key so I can do this? Beer.

I have one on my 08 but unless you know the McGard key number AND it is same key number as mine by some miracle, it'll get you nowhere. Did you look to see if it is stuck on the end of the bar you poke under there in your lug wrench bag? Should be silver cylinder shape with hole in the middle of it and a puzzle key pattern on one end. On another note, I have the chain hanger with a lock/key that came on newer trucks, only thing is that you have to cut cable to drop your tire then drill 2 new holes in crossmember for the newer chain hanger to bolt up as the mounting holes are narrower. I didn't feel like doing that so that is why I have it. Also not crazy far from you in Fulshear area and could meet up in Wharton if you wanted to do that. I'll give ya the hanger and lock for $40 which is what McGard will want for new key for yours IF you can see the key number on the lock thru holes in the spare. Lemme know if I can help. If you can get number off lock somehow, I will see if it matches mine miraculously and we could just meet up to drop spare so you could just remove lock altogether until you can order the correct key for it. Options, you got options. Your VIN will not tie back to lock number at dealer even tho it is dealer item.........that I'm aware of. You can always ask and maybe that miracle could happen too I suppose. Also check your owners manual folder thing, maybe they crammed the piece of cardboard with the lock number on it in there.

Here is a link to what the parts look like........

Did you check owners manual pouch to see if the lock number paper or cardboard top of package was in there? (can't remember if lock number was on paper inside bag or on inside of cardboard piece stapled to bag)

2012-2015 locks are different piece that goes on truck side and those are ones with chain hanger
