Last night I was backing my trailer into position and the reverse lights went on me... Figured it was a fuse, then I saw my backup camera also was out, as well as the dash illumination to tell me what gear I am in. I dropped the trailer, got back into the truck and could not shift out of park without hitting that button next to the shift. I checked ALL of my fuses, behind the coin tray and in the engine bay.

Checked it again this morning nothing has changed.

Well for one obviously the wiring on my trailer is screwy.. So I'll be checking that.

From some research I think it is the reverse switch on the tranny. AM I CORRECT? My question, How do I check if it is actually that? And is there more too this then just that switch? Any help is appreciated.

Recheck your fuses behind the coin tray, IG1 no. 2 if I recall correctly, one of the IG1's for sure.

It is currently raining here and my trailer is in the garage, will be checking when weather allows me too, thanks for the input. Hopefully with some of all of your knowledge you guys can help me find a solution.

This happened in reverse, so If I just take the reverse lights off my trailer and pull the reverse wiring out this should not happen again...theoretically speaking... I drove over an hour and everything worked fine until I was in reverse for over a minute, because I did back up a few times (dropping off a friend) but wasn't in the gear for more then 30 seconds, so I guess the constant pull of the reverse lights was too much. Ill shut up now, this is quite a rant. thanks for the help

Something went wrong when the trailer was connected, and stayed that way... but yes I agree.

After rechecking everything it was the IG1 fuse, I find it strange that so much is ran through that single fuse, any way replaced it everything is fine. Thanks for the help.

I used the new glow fuse, when they go they glow, I may do that to everything, would make something like this very easy to fix.
