I've got that one thing, and that other one thing, oh yeah and that other other one thing.
Pretty sure that is the main cause yes.

    It is true.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/12/divorce-study_n_3587811.html

    http://www.examiner.com/article/finances-remain-leading-cause-of-divorce

It is a widely undisputed fact that 50% of marriages end in divorce. It is also a widely undisputed fact that 45% of marriages will end in divorce due to finances.

    What's wrong with being serious?

I've been married twice and never had a divorce.

Never fight over money, even 42 years ago at 23/19 yo.

Would never marry a woman w/o 'logical thinking'. Would never marry a woman with different philosophy of handling finances, along with many other things..............

Too many people probably spend more time analyzing tire choices, oil filters and cell phone apps than they do about the person they are considering spending the rest of the life with.

    To the OP.

Good call on the tires. Enjoy. Love the wheels.

Divorce is caused by 2 people not wanting to be married to each other anymore. If you want to be married to the other person you will work through your shit.

I'm saying money may cause fights but no marriage fails simply because of spending. An otherwise good marriage, and you can work through it. OR.... if your marriage is otherwise good you won't be fighting over money in the first place.

Saying fights about finances causes divorce is like saying telephone poles cause accidents. That's my opinion. Maybe you know better.

    This

    This

    And this.

My wife is a real catch. She's as easy going as I am. We don't really fight. We find solutions and support each other. She gives me shit about how much I spend on cars/trucks/motorcycles. But that's about it, just shit. I just tell her it's better that I spend it on hobbies like those mentioned than hobbies that include taverns, bars, saloons, gentlemen's clubs, hookers and blow. :D

It keeps me home and on the internets and this forum. Where she can keep an eye on me and give me shit for being on the computer all the time.

You need to understand, they give you shit no matter what you do. If you work too much, the give you shit about never being home. If you're home too much, they give you shit about being on the couch too much. You can't win. Just say "yes dear" and do what she wants once in a while. Include her in your hobbies a little bit and they won't resent it as much. They'll still resent it, but not as much. They're just a little jealous you spend so much time on your other "baby". Make 'em feel pretty and sexy and give them some attention. If you give them too much attention, they'll give you shit. See? You can't win.

PS. Hey Clearwater Bill, my wife is one of those rare Florida natives. A real nice Southern Belle. :D

My wife leaves the all the automotive stuff to me, including her car. I wash, wax, schedule maintenance, buy tires, etc as I see needed for both. Can be a blessing and a lot of work.

My wife and I have a shared account for the mortgage, utility, grocery, gas, and etc. bills that we put a bulk of our paychecks in. Then we each have our own checking accounts that we put a couple of hundred in each pay period. She can go and buy her purses and clothes and I can buy my car/truck parts.

    No one gets mad.
